After India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty following the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, Chinese commentator Victor Gao warned, “Don’t do unto others what you don’t want done to you,” before highlighting China’s upstream position on the Brahmaputra, which originates in Tibet. His remarks were interpreted by some as an indirect warning to India.
Can China stop the Brahmaputra? Not entirely. Rainfall and tributaries in India contribute substantial water, but Chinese dams and disruptions to hydrological data-sharing could still pose risks. During the 2017 Doklam standoff, China reportedly withheld river data from India, though the motive remains disputed.
China’s massive Yarlung Tsangpo hydropower project has added to Indian concerns. Meanwhile, the Strait of Malacca is a vital route for China’s energy imports, and the Indian Navy maintains a significant presence in the region. Could this geography provide India with strategic leverage?

ASHUTOSH RANKA RELEASED — BUT WILL CITIZENS NEED PERMISSION TO QUESTION POWER?
“Jail se bahar aate hi Ashutosh Ranka ka phoota gussa!” — TNX News.
The anger seen in this video raises a larger democratic question: Can citizens be discouraged from questioning those in power through detention, restrictive peace bonds and limits on protest?
Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das of the Cockroach Janta Party were released on 21 October after spending seven days in judicial custody. Reports say their release came with written undertakings, including a promise not to call for protests at Jantar Mantar while it remains a denotified protest site. The legal proceedings are continuing.
The agitation concerns allegations of irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and demands for accountability from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. These allegations require transparent examination; they should neither be treated as proven without evidence nor dismissed without a credible answer.
Our demands are clear:
• Protect the constitutional right to peaceful protest.
• Ensure that preventive detention and peace-bond provisions are not used arbitrarily to silence dissent.
• Provide transparent answers to concerns about voter-list revisions.
• Allow independent scrutiny, due process and accountability wherever wrongdoing is established.
A democracy must be strong enough to face questions from its own citizens. Dissent is not disloyalty. Asking questions is not a crime. The Constitution must protect citizens, not make them afraid to speak.

Dozens of Israeli fighter jets and refuelling aircraft reportedly flew through Syrian and Iraqi airspace toward Iran’s border in a long-range military exercise on October 19. Israel reportedly described the operation as a show of force intended to deter Iran, with the aircraft turning back before entering Iranian territory.
But the reports contain a more controversial allegation: some US officials suspected Israel may have hoped Iranian forces would fire on the aircraft, potentially providing justification for a retaliatory strike. This remains an unconfirmed suspicion, not an established explanation for the mission.
The flights came amid renewed tensions over the possibility of further Israeli-US military action against Iran. They may have served as preparation for long-range missions and a warning to Tehran—but they also risked triggering a dangerous miscalculation. Was this deterrence, military preparation, or an attempt to provoke a response? The available reports do not establish Israel’s true intent.

While Union Minister Hardeep Puri in February said he had only met Jeffrey Epstein as a part of a delegation, pictures show him in a one-on-one meeting with the convicted child s*x offender. Watch this video to find out how multiple claims made by Puri have been countered.
"The mistake Mr. Modi and Shah are making is that, they think beating up people can actually shut them up."

Could the Russia-Ukraine war spread further into the Middle East? Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, citing an unnamed Iranian security source, reports that Ukraine has deployed drone teams in several countries near Iran, including an alleged delivery of thousands of small drones to Iraq’s Kurdistan region. Iran reportedly views this as part of growing pressure from Ukraine and its Western partners.
The same source also accused Ukraine of previously attacking an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea, claiming Tehran did not retaliate at the time. Iran is now reportedly considering its response options, although the countries allegedly hosting Ukrainian teams have not been publicly identified.
These remain unverified Iranian allegations. No publicly available independent evidence has confirmed the reported deployment of thousands of Ukrainian drones in Iraqi Kurdistan. Still, the claims raise a significant question: could Ukraine’s drone expertise and the Russia-Ukraine conflict have consequences far beyond the European battlefield?
