Elon Musk is the world's first trillionaire. A trillion dollars is so much money it is nearly impossible to comprehend. I asked Claude to give me some visuals of how this would look if stacked as 100 dollar bills. Truly stunning...
$1 million in $100 bills = about 3.6 feet tall. Roughly chest-high on a person.
$1 billion = about 3,580 feet, or 0.68 miles. That's taller than any building on the planet, and roughly 2.5 Empire State Buildings stacked tip to tip.
$1 trillion = about 680 miles or 11 times higher than the edge of outer space. The International Space Station orbits at around 250 miles up, so your stack would punch past it and keep going nearly three times higher.
If you stacked Musk's trillion dollars as $100 bills and started climbing it at highway speed, 60 mph, it would take you over 11 hours of nonstop driving straight up to reach the top.

Auto Driver to MLA? Or just clever PR? K.V. Vijay Damu (TVK - Royapuram) campaigned as the humble “auto driver” who rose from the streets.
Beat bigwigs with 59k+ votes. But look at his official election affidavit: No auto-rickshaw listed anywhere in his assets.
Instead: Brand new Toyota Innova Crysta (Jan 2025) worth ₹20 LAKHS (TN 07 DM 2224)
Two Honda motorcycles/scooters (2023 & 2022) Total assets: just ₹28.9 lakh
Liabilities (loans): ₹0
Declared annual income: ₹0 (no ITR income shown) How does an “auto driver” with ZERO declared income & ZERO loans buy a ₹20 lakh Innova in Jan 2025?
“Auto consulting business” sounds nice…
but where’s the auto? People’s power or clever image makeover?

It's a weird time. I am filled with wonder and also a profound sadness.
I spent a lot of time over the weekend writing code with Claude. And it was very clear that we will never ever write code by hand again. It doesn't make any sense to do so.
Something I was very good at is now free and abundant. I am happy...but disoriented.
At the same time, something I spent my early career building (social networks) was being created by lobster-agents. It's all a bit silly...but if you zoom out, it's kind of indistinguishable from humans on the larger internet.
So both the form and function of my early career are now produced by AI.
I am happy but also sad and confused.
If anything, this whole period is showing me what it is like to be human again.
Google just told you the H-1B math broke and nobody’s talking about what that means for US tech employment.
2.4 million square feet across three towers in Bangalore’s Whitefield corridor. Capacity for 20,000 new employees. That would more than double Google’s entire India headcount from 14,000 to 34,000.
The trigger is simple arithmetic. Trump’s H-1B proclamation raised visa fees from ~$4,500 to $100,000 per new petition. Google files thousands of H-1B applications per year. At the old rate, sponsoring 1,000 engineers cost roughly $4.5M. At the new rate, that same cohort costs $100M. For that $100M, Google can lease 2.4 million square feet in Bangalore and employ those same engineers at Indian market salaries for years.
This is FAANG running the build-vs-buy calculation on American labor in real time. And Google isn’t even the most aggressive. Amazon sponsors over 10,000 H-1B workers annually. Microsoft, Meta, Apple are all doing identical math on the back of the same napkin.
The part nobody’s pricing in: India’s FAANG headcount grew 16% in the last 12 months, the biggest jump in three years, and that was before the $100K fee was upheld by a federal judge in December. OpenAI and Anthropic just opened India offices too.
The H-1B fee was designed to protect American jobs. What it actually did was make it economically rational for every major tech company to move the jobs overseas permanently instead of temporarily importing the workers. Temporary visa holders go home eventually. Bangalore offices don’t.
When I was trading actively (before Zerodha), I had an offline demat account where I held all my investments and an online account for all my trades. This was a way to avoid the temptation of "trading" my investments 😬
If I had to sell any of my investments, there was effort involved. I had to physically fill out the delivery instruction slips and send them to the broker to move holdings to my primary demat and then sell them.
The other advantage of having a secondary demat was, of course, taxation. If you have both short-term and long-term holdings in one demat, First In First Out (FIFO) taxation applies. Check the link in the comments to know more.
We wanted to offer a secondary demat for a long time, but there were some challenges, and we finally figured out how to do it. You can now open a new demat and use it to segregate your long-term and short-term holdings and smartly manage the tax impact on your holdings. This is a good behavioural hack to deal with impulse selling.
Unsurprisingly, the best returns were on stocks that I held the longest in my secondary demat.
Everyday, work 2–3 hours with zero distractions. Put your phone in another room. Close every tab except the one you actually need. Set a timer and go all in. No multitasking. No checking notifications. Just deep, focused work. You’ll be shocked how much you can accomplish.
Jeffrey Sachs on tariffs: "If you take your credit card and you go shopping and you run up a large credit card debt, you’re running a trade deficit with all those shops. Now, it would be pretty strange if you then blamed all the shop owners for having sold you all those things."
