Even if someone hates Dhruv Rathee, how can they just degrade women and slut-shame his wife like this?
The meme isn’t about his politics or his detention. It’s a direct attack on a woman who isn’t even the one in the public fight.
How mentally sick someone has to be to even think all of this.
“Thoda aaram se karo baby, vo ab 4-5 din aur late aayega” is just turning her into a sexual joke because her husband got picked up.
This is cheap, it’s ugly, and it has nothing to do with any argument.
Disagree with Dhruv Rathee if you want to.
Call him whatever you want.
But dragging his wife into it and writing this kind of stuff about her is just pure women degradation.
These accounts never get banned, and mentally sick people posting them walk around freely.
A lot of these accounts are basically potential molesters sitting in the open, they slut shame someone's wife for political revenge.
This is morally, ethically, socially, mentally and wrong at all levels.
Why aren't they hunted and arrested?
it all started when puja started talking about international film recommendations. the casteists & classists simply couldn't digest it. how can a rural dweller enter our reserved elite spaces and make us look equal if not lesser. that's the triggering point.
Day 1 of the AI Impact Summit turned to be a pain for us.
I came genuinely excited, it was the first time the summit was being hosted in India, and I wanted to show up personally to support the ecosystem and the government’s push.
But what happened next was shocking.
At 12 noon, security personnel arrived to sanitise and cordon off the area ahead of the visit by PM Modi visit at 2pm.
I explained that we’re building India’s first patented AI wearable at NeoSapien and requested a chance to showcase it.
One officer told others to let me stay, and they left.
Then another group came and ordered us to leave immediately. Seemed like there was lack of co-ordination between the security itself.
I asked: “Should we take our wearables?”
They said, others are leaving even laptops behind, security will take care.
Trusting them, I left. Hoping that the wearables will be safe, and If I am lucky, it might catch the eye of PM Modi.
Gates were closed from 12–6pm. Much much longer than expected.
Later we found out that our wearables were stolen.
Think about this: We paid for flights, accommodation, logistics and even the booth. Only to see our wearables disappear inside a high-security zone.
If only security and official entourage had access, how did this happen?
This is extremely disappointing.
This is exactly what I’ve been trying to explain to my fellow Indians who think I am overreacting. I’ve seen the amount of racism Gukesh faces from people outside India. Here is one from the official Norway Chess TikTok account which has been liked by thousands of people.
If you are an Indian travelling abroad (or even within India):-
- Dress well
- Speak politely
- Help others
- Respect the country's culture you are travelling to.
- Respect rules
When you go abroad, you are representing India. You will be judged.
People should not say: 'Oh, see this is how Indians behave at the Airport'
Our reputation is in our own hands.
I am part of the tourism industry and have been vociferously saying this for the last 2+ years - we have become an overpriced dump of a destination.
Every single agent/partner of ours in the UK, EU, Australia & USA has the following questions - air quality, general hygiene & cleanliness, women's safety & incoherent chaotic internal logistics. We spend more time unsuccessfully answering these questions RATHER THAN actually selling our destination & products.
I haven't seen the reputation of India in tourism as low as this. There is no optimism and mystique anymore - every potential inbound visitor is seeing the news and reading on social media.
Domestic tourists are shunning India for abroad. Only the luxury segment in India is doing OK - somewhat for now. Middle segment is a bloodbath. Those of us who operate at a per person cost of under ₹10k daily have seen business vanish in the last 3 years. Majorly middle & upper middle class domestic tourists are put off by high domestic airfares and expensive local logistics.
I am at a loss why this crisis is not being taken seriously by policy makers. Inbound tourism numbers have not crossed 2019 numbers after the pandemic.
We have a reputation and price problem.
Everytime some post like the one by @deedydas goes around - we see it as some 'conspiracy against India, Hindus, blah blah, whataboutery etc.'
Tourism is the most stupid easy way to generate employment and goods & services tax for the government. Not a single youth I meet wants to take up a course in hotel management anymore - the sector has gained a reputation for being stagnant in India.
I feel gutted.
Some of these Prithviraj fanatics are insufferable. Not only do they have no genuine interest in gender justice in cinema, but they also want everyone else to stop talking about it and sing praises for their hero for doing the bare minimum. This is the worst kind of PR for him.
As the president of AMMA, Mohanlal has to speak out atleast now. Despite the entire association and its top names being outed as predators, why is a massive superstar silent? Everyone's got some dirty laundry in their closet lol
even if the survivors who gave their statements to Hema Commission back in 2018 won't come forward, survivors in the last five years might come forward and drag all these mfs to filth and I'm here for it
