Elizabeth Warren used to be a Republican, Senator Bernie Sanders used to oppose the Brady Bill and voted to shield gun manufacturers from lawsuits (the law that obstructed the Sandy Hook families' suit), Ted Kennedy used to be pro-life but then became a 100%-NARAL-rated-standard-bearer of abortion rights, Jesse Jackson called abortion genocide then ran for president as a pro-choice Democrat.

People change their minds. Sometimes it's cynical, sometimes it's under pressure from activists, sometimes it's because they just heard some good arguments and sometimes it's because their team evolved.

A politics that pre-determines good guys and bad guys and decides that no one can change no matter what they do is a dead end. We live in a country where lots of people disagree with us -- the point of protest isn't to push people out of the body politic, it's to get them to come over to our side.
