Ministry of Education, Government of India, releases the Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) report every year.

The latest report has been released.

It is India's comprehensive national database on school education, covering schools, teachers, students, infrastructure, enrolment, dropouts, and various performance indicators.

Key metrics include Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER), low dropout rates, strong infrastructure (toilets, electricity, digital facilities), high retention rates, and equity across gender and social categories.

Tamil Nadu and Kerala usually lead in most categories. The attached image shows the top 10 states with the best school infrastructure.

Tamil Nadu secures the top rank in the country for school infrastructure.

Passport is not proof of citizenship.

Now marriage certificate is no longer conclusive proof of marriage.

There are Hindu couples who do only registered marriages without going through any rituals.

How can we compel anyone to perform rituals?

What more is needed when there is already a legal registration?

Why, from proof of citizenship to marriage, are we making a mess out of everything?

Remembered my old tweet. Posting it again in the context of today's discussion in the Tamil Nadu Assembly:

Two Tamilians have made a significant impact on the lives of tens of millions of people in the country. They remain largely unknown outside Tamil Nadu.

Late Kamarajar, who introduced the mid day meal scheme for children in Tamil Nadu in the mid-1950s (around 70 years ago).

Following the Supreme Court’s 2001 order directing all states to implement the scheme, over 110–120 million children now receive nutritious mid-day meals across India.

It was decided in the Constitution (adopted in 1950) that English would cease to be an official language after 15 years - i.e., from 26 January 1965. Late Anna fought tooth and nail against this. He strongly argued that English was essential for India’s growth and unity.

After a massive agitation in Tamil Nadu lasting nearly two months (with protests building over a longer period), during which scores to hundreds of people lost their lives, the Central Government finally accepted that English would continue as an official language.

What would today’s India look like if children stayed out of school due to hunger and Indians remained cut off from English?

The nation owes a deep debt of gratitude to Kamarajar and Anna.

A popular real estate company in Tamil Nadu says how the process in CMDA and other authorities are changed, how they have started seeing action on the ground. He says this would be huge positive for both builders and end consumers. TAT is being made mandatory for all unresolved issues.

He says he neither expected nor has seen this kind of change.

2021 -ல் Double Anti Incumbency இருந்தது ,ஜெயலலிதா அம்மையாராகவே இருந்திருந்தாலும் தோற்றிருப்பார்கள். இருந்தபோதிலும் கூட்டணியாக 75 இடங்களில் வெற்றிப்பெற்று வலுவான எதிர்க்கட்சியாக அமர்ந்தது அதிமுக. 2024-ல் நான்கு முனை போட்டியால் அதிமுக தோல்வியடைகிறது. 2026-ல் மாஸ் நடிகர் விஜய்யால் பெரும் பின்னடைவு எல்லா கட்சிகளுக்கும் ஏற்படுகிறது , முதல்வராக இருந்த ஸ்டாலின் அவர்களே தோற்கிறார்.

அதிமுக இடத்தை தவெக நிரப்பிவிட்டது இனி அதிமுகவுக்கு பெரிய எதிர்காலம் இல்லை. எடப்பாடி பழனிசாமி அவர்கள் தலைமை ஏற்கவே இது நடக்க 9 ஆண்டுகள் ஆகி இருக்கிறது மற்ற யாராவது தலைமை ஏற்றிருந்தால் சில ஆண்டுகளில் கதை முடிந்திருக்கும். இப்பவும் தனியாக செயல்பட விரும்பும் எடப்பாடியின் முடிவுதான் சரி. தவெகவுக்கு ஆதரவு என்பதெல்லாம் தற்கொலைக்கு சமம்.

இன்று 30-17 என்ற அளவில் பிரிந்து முடிவுரையின் விளிம்பில் இருக்கிறது.

தத்துவம் இல்லாமல் தனி மனித வழிபாடு வேலைக்கு ஆகாது.இது தவெகவுக்கும் பொருந்தும். விஜய் இல்லையெனில் தவெக Zero.

தவெகவின் வெற்றிக்கு பிறகு தமிழ்நாடு Political Status quo மற்றும் Political Dynamics மாறிவிட்டது. இதை புரிந்து களமாடுவது எல்லோருக்கும் நல்லது.

Not going to share any personal details. Just want to highlight how perception is different from reality. This is not to support any political party or leader. Want to let you know things are not as they look.

In 2013, my client who was professionally working for Rahul Gandhi suggested my name to him to handle his mutual fund investments.

From 2013, when UPA 2 was in power to till date when Vijay was sworn in with Congress support, Rahul continues to be my client for mutual fund investments.

We have exchanged many mails and has spoken over phone lot of times. And as you are aware, I've been a strong Modi supporter from 2014 to 2024. Never once Rahul or his office staff brought that subject to me. I believe my tweets are regularly seen by his staff. They clearly differentiate between my professional service and political beliefs.

And in every single conversation I've with Rahul, he addresses me with respect and never behaved in any haughty manner.

Despite knowing my BJP support, he took my input few years ago for choosing a key professional .

This post may lead to Rahul terminating our professional relationship. That's ok. Everything should end one day.

Wanted to post this to show how main stream media and IT cells of parties can make someone look completely inhuman.

I do not know Rahul Gandhi as a politician. Based on last 14 years interaction, all I can say is he respect professionals a lot and a nice human being to interact with.

Don't go by media or IT cells - for any party that matter.

Despite many voices within the party asking for a different path before the elections, the Congress stood by its commitment and remained with the Secular Progressive Alliance. We fought the election honestly and sincerely. The people, however, have now given a clear mandate for change, and we respect that verdict with humility.
Today, TVK has approached the secular forces of Tamil Nadu seeking support to form a secular front, even amidst possible pressure from the BJP to bring them under its influence. In such a situation, it would be a serious mistake for any secular party to refuse support and indirectly help communal forces gain space in Tamil Nadu.
If acting in the interest of the state, respecting the people’s mandate, and protecting Tamil Nadu’s secular character is called “backstabbing,” then one must also ask: what should we call desperate attempts to cling to power by going against the people’s verdict and opening the doors for BJP’s influence in the state?

As a country with tropical climate, India needs mass cooling solutions.

Almost 6 decades ago, Lee Kuan Yew started completely air conditioning Singapore. He
credited air conditioning as one of the most significant factors in the nation's success. He believed that physical comfort was a prerequisite for high productivity in the tropics.

To quote Lee Kuan Yew:

"Air conditioning was a most important invention for us, perhaps one of the signal inventions of history. It changed the nature of civilization by making development possible in the tropics. Without air conditioning, you can only work in the early morning hours or dusk.

The first thing I did upon becoming Prime Minister was to install air conditioners in buildings where the civil service worked. This was the key to public efficiency."

Yesterday our central minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that he doesn't use AC in his car, he doesn't sit in air conditioned environment and he just keeps an onion in the pocket to beat the heat. He implied that is an easy and inexpensive way to beat the heat.

It is well known that Scindia's home, office and luxury cars are equipped with AC.

Telling ordinary Indians to keep an onion in the pocket to beat the heat is mockery of our people.

We don't have what is required to become a Singapore. Our minister is no Lee Kuan Yew. The least Scindia can do is not to talk this kind of unscientific crap.

There is no slightest evidence that keeping an onion in your pocket would help you beat the heat.
