The final Steering Committee of the Green PFM Programme convened today, bringing three years of strengthened integration of climate and environmental considerations across key Public Finance Management and National Bank of Rwanda operations to a successful close.

At the #AfDBAM2026, Minister @tesirusagara participated in the Board of Governors' meeting themed "Rebuilding Africa Agency in a Fragmented World". She reaffirmed Rwanda’s support for the Bank’s proposed New African Financial Architecture for Development (NAFAD), to power strategic sectors and drive economic growth across Africa.
Today, Minister @godfreykabera welcomed H.E. Ms. Herrera Portillo Diana Baleska, Vice President of Honduras, and her delegation for a benchmarking visit. They shared experiences and lessons on strengthening public finance management and Rwanda’s development planning framework among others.
Rwanda is actively participating in the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG) workshop, bringing together country representatives and technical experts to strengthen national coordination mechanisms ahead of the upcoming third round of Mutual Evaluations.
As the current Chair and President of ESAAMLG, Rwanda called for timely capacity building for jurisdictions, highlighting the need to keep countries informed on the latest Financial Action Task Force (FATF) changes and expectations regarding Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism and Proliferation (AML/CFT/PF), including both technical compliance and effectiveness.
Better ratings will require better preparedness of AML/CFT/PF systems and data from reporting agencies.
At the Northern Corridor Integration Projects meeting, Minister @godfreykabera underscored that strengthening regional trade cooperation is vital amid global supply chain disruptions.
Thanks to the Single Customs Territory framework, trade value has risen 160% and cargo turnaround has dropped from 16 days to just 5.
