Meet Skye, one of our newest rescues.

Just 4 days ago, she was found completely alone and covered in fleas on a dusty construction site. She was completely broken💔

The moment we saw her, we knew right away that something wasn't right with her leg. We later discovered that she had likely been hit by a car as a tiny puppy. With no one to help her, the injury healed all on its own, leaving her leg permanently stiff.

But Skye is a fighter. Today, the real healing begins. We are taking it one day at a time, teaching her how to walk again and rebuilding the confidence she lost. She knows she is safe now. 🐾❤️

TEDDY is a sweet 2 year old, 57 lb male pittie mix. He is dog and people friendly, walks nicely on leash, is non-reactive to barking dogs, and is heartworm negative. He is also missing several toes on one front foot and has already been through too much.

Melia has a new daughter. She might too young for solids, but that doesn't stop her giving it a good go.

Earlier this week, ex-orphan Melia walked up to our Ithumba Reintegration Unit in northern Tsavo and introduced her brand new baby girl to Head Keeper Benjamin and the team. We've named her Moon.

Moon is Melia's second – little sister to her firstborn Milo, who was born outside the same stockades back in 2022. The new arrival is bold and full of character.

Melia came into our care as a yearling in 2009, alone and far from any wild herd. Seventeen years on, she's a mother of two, living wild – and still bringing her family home to say hello.

Today is the 82nd anniversary of D-Day – the Allied landings in Normandy, which significantly hastened the countdown to the Nazis' collapse in World War II. It is one of the most important moments of unity among the defenders of life in human history, and it was less than a year until the peoples’ aspiration for freedom and the hope of peace prevailed in May 1945. It happened then. We are working to make it happen again today.

And although yesterday in Petersburg another cynical order to continue killing was issued for the army trying to destroy our freedom, history has seen this before. The Nazis also had their own hopes after D-Day. But freedom still wins. And even in the darkest circumstances, people find ways to come together to protect life.

I thank all those who are now helping to protect the values that prevailed in World War II. I thank everyone who is defending life. Glory to Ukraine!

Wonderful news from Ithumba: ex-orphan Tumaren debuted a brand new baby boy this evening!

We haven’t seen Tumaren for six months – but as our ex-orphans so often do, she journeyed home to introduce her baby to the people who raised her. Tuck, as we’ve named her newest addition, is just perfect. Tumaren’s firstborn, Tembo, is already proving to be an excellent big brother too, which is lovely to witness.

This is the second new arrival we’ve met this week, bringing our total tally of known wild-born babies to an astonishing 94.

Two years is a long time to wait for someone to choose you. 💔
Today Ella & Diva have hit TWO YEARS in rescue.
Two years of sleeping in temporary places.
Two years of routines changing.
Two years of people scrolling past because they aren’t “easy” dogs.
But here’s what we wish people understood:
Ella and Diva are not broken.
They are cautious.
They are deeply bonded.
They are dogs who need time, trust, and the right environment to feel safe.
And once they do? They love HARD.
Ella gives soft paws for attention and melts into belly rubs with her whole wiggle-butt going. Diva rolls on pillows in the morning, makes goofy sleep noises while “chasing bunnies,” and watches over the people she trusts most.
