This Canada-wide Rogers outage really highlights the dangers of monopolized industries. When one malfunction can put half of a country’s economy on pause, we have a big problem.
A Blue Jays fan caught an Aaron Judge home run ball, and proceeded to give it to a young Yankees fan wearing a Judge shirt.
Be a good person like this man.
I think people have a hard time wrestling with the concept that scarcity drives EVERYTHING. Not just markets and economies but even the most fundamental of human behaviour.
Advanced AI and robotics eliminates ALL scarcity - at least insofar as it pertains to anything biological or human on this planet.
It’s an unimaginable concept because scarcity is so hardwired into our evolution and most primitive parts of our brains. Everything will change once it’s eliminated.
@HistoryBoomer Run the poker hand 1,000 times you win 75% of the time.
Run the election 1,000 times Trump still wins 1,000 times, not 300.
Election probability isn’t based on rng the same as a poker hand outcome - you’re not drawing randomly ordered cards and getting “lucky/unlucky”.
“In this video, I want to share a touching story that took place in Almaty. In 2016, a dog fell into the Sayran reservoir and couldn’t get out because of the smooth banks. A young man tried to rescue it but couldn’t do it alone. That’s when a group of people formed a human chain, holding hands, and together they rescued both the dog and the young man.
Now, 10 years later, that act of solidarity has been turned into a sculpture inaugurated in March 2026. This monument not only immortalizes the rescue of a little dog, but also shows how art can serve as a bridge between emotion and action.
Through a small being, this human chain reminded us that when we come together, we can overcome barriers, save lives, and, as a society, build a more compassionate and united future.”

@BretWeinstein@davidicke While I did appreciate the honest arc of your Covid beliefs, this “first hour” response is not honest. In the first few episodes of Dark Horse you were openly claiming and advocating removing all clothes entering the house, straight into the laundry, shower, full sanitizing, etc.
@RobSchneider Let’s not forget, at the start of Covid and the dark horse podcast both Brett and his wife were advocating full masking and taking off their entire outfits at the door when entering their house.
Then the information landscape changed as Michael points out - and they pivoted.
