Meet our new AI, #DBRX
DBRX is an advance in what language models can do per $. These economics will have profound impacts on how AI is used, and we've built this to democratize these capabilities!
It's the best open model in the world. It closes the gap to closed models in a meaningful way. It also demonstrates the "full power of the deathstar"...the combination of a true data platform combined with the best-in-class LLM training platform
See details below 👇
Meet DBRX, a new sota open llm from @databricks. It's a 132B MoE with 36B active params trained from scratch on 12T tokens. It sets a new bar on all the standard benchmarks, and - as an MoE - inference is blazingly fast. Simply put, it's the model your data has been waiting for.

@altopharmacy really needs to sort out their notification game! An auto delivery sent me medication that I couldn't sign for because we're travelling. No reminder or anything, but sure enough *I* was admonished by the pharmacist for not providing *them* with sufficient notice.
As I managed to overdo the insulin for the second time this week, it was reassuring to see @GrahamJenson’s writeup and know that I’m not alone in finding it incredibly hard: https://t.co/VXfp7HpcoH
One of the unfortunate things about a January birthday was that more often than not it was a school day. Now, as an adult, it always seems to be around performance review time.
We flew home for my grandmother's funeral and @Halo_Screening had some massive logistical fail at T5. They managed to lose both my wife and my sister's PCR samples (mine is fine). Worst still, instead of making it right, they insist that it is user error. Steer clear!
.@opstrace has joined @gitlab! 🎉
With this acquisition, we will bring our open source observability to The DevOps Platform—alongside existing monitoring capabilities—to accelerate adoption and features.
And, yes, we're still committed to Apache v2!

My favourite thing about the world in 2021 is how I have to Slack people to remind people about the action item I assigned them in Google Docs that they missed in their inbox.
Great work by the team! It's not always been straightforward to contribute changes upstream but I'm hoping this'll be the first of many from Airbnb Cloud Infra.

Reviewing access for SOX compliance is one of my least favourite activities. It's such a brittle requirement that is impossible to enforce when your systems run anything and everything.
It's always funny to me how "Manager" is listed as a distinct occupation on insurance applications. Not sure I could drop in and manage a sales team, nor that my wife would be good managing an engineering team.
