.@opstrace has joined @gitlab! 🎉
With this acquisition, we will bring our open source observability to The DevOps Platform—alongside existing monitoring capabilities—to accelerate adoption and features.
And, yes, we're still committed to Apache v2!

1/9 The "Prometheus Agent" is coming; based on @grafana agent code. @bwplotka started merging things a few days ago. The Prometheus Agent will be first-classing an idea that I have often gently called "pusher prom". A Prometheus instance that only pulls and pushes. A forwarder.
Check out my thoughts on #observability and a few projects to check out!

We just published a new @opstrace release: https://t.co/QB9EAAax94
Anecdote: this release contains a few simple patches as the result of pretty nasty and entertaining debugging efforts (that is what makes software dev exciting, right?)
We did a tremendous amount of work around CI and our tests, improving build time, squashing flaky tests, and adding new tests (for example in the UI). This is one of the most important areas to us, as dev velocity is only possible thanks to a robust, complete testing pipeline.
Opstrace can collect metrics from @CockroachDB
using @PrometheusIO to remote write the samples.
@CockroachDB also comes bundled with pre-defined dashboards that can be imported into Opstrace. Try this yourself by following our latest blog post here:

Check it out if you missed the session. We discussed the upcoming 1.1 release, search capabilities and our new maintainer @kvrhdn!!
Great episode that covers two of my favorite things: immutability and observability. Looking forward to checking out @opstrace. https://t.co/jSGqvBDjkg
