People are asking why @austinenergy is not powering poor neighborhoods, when they should be asking why there are no essential services located in Austin’s poor and historically poor neighborhoods. The system break is bigger than this winter storm.

@TexasMonthly In east Austin without power continuously since 5am Monday morning (36 hours and counting). No fireplace or heat source, we can see our breath in our house. Neighbors house registered 32 degrees inside. Blackouts definitely not “rolling!”
