It was revealed that Dolly Parton was secretly battling cancer but she didn't say anything and instead released this song as one of her last to raise funds for children with cancer. Even while she was sick she was still thinking about others. I’m absolutely devastated.
This is an embarrassment and slap in the face to the hard-working individuals that teach and protect our kids each day. Our state CAN and should do better. It's a matter of priorities....simple as that.

There are 11,000 teacher vacancies across our state. Think about what that means for the children in those classrooms. We must increase teacher pay. We can't compete if we rank 44th in the nation for starting pay, and that's a fact. It's time we show our teachers we value them.
