Medha Patkar led the Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA), which began in the 1980s.

The movement opposed Sardar Sarovar Dam. The movement lasted for more than 30 years.

Narmada Bachao Andolan was included in school textbooks and Medha Patkar was hailed as a revolutionary.

However, the Sardar Sarovar Dam has provided benefits to millions of people in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

It not only supplies drinking water to several villages and drought-prone areas but also supports irrigation for millions of hectares of farmland and has boosted farmers' incomes. It also supports regional power needs.

Now, people are witnessing that the Narmada Bachao Andolan they studied in school was not an environmental revolution but an anti development campaign which played with their minds. She misled Indians for more than 30 years.

The very conditions that led to elections in Bihar and UP in the 1970s–90s being labelled as “jungle raj”, intimidation, political violence, and coercion, continue to persist in Bengal today.

Senior leaders from TMC have openly issued threats. Statements like “4 May ke baad koi bachane nahi aayega” or even “gala kaat denge” are part of mainstream political messaging. The scale of unrest is such that around 2.5 lakh central forces have had to be deployed for just elections, a figure that approaches nearly 70% of the total counter-terrorism forces stationed in Kashmir.

What makes this situation intellectually inconsistent is the selective moral framing. States once dismissed as “backward" have eliminated electoral violence over time. Meanwhile, a state projected as “progressive” has become a persistent centre of political intimidation. Yet, instead of being critiqued, this is frequently rationalized, dismissed as “resistance,” romanticized as political culture, or normalized with a casual “aise hi hota hai yahan.”

No comedian, no web series, and no film dares to touch this contradiction.

1. Secularism must be upheld in a manner that ensures uniform response to any threat or harm caused to any religion or faith.

2. A strong national Act is required to protect Sanatana Dharma and prevent actions that harm its beliefs. This Act should be enacted immediately and uniformly enforced across the nation.

3. A "Sanatana Dharma Protection Board" should be established at both the national and state levels to oversee the implementation of this Act

4. Annual funds must be allocated to support this board and its activities.

5. There should be non-cooperation to individuals or organizations that defame or spread hatred against Sanatana Dharma.

6. Sanathana Dharma Certification must be implemented to ensure the purity of materials used in offerings and prasadam at temples.

US deep state is silently buying up Indian healthcare and pharma using private equity firms. This is a big risk in the long term to Indian health, pun intended.

Healthcare costs are already too high in India. They will soar even further and nothing can be done. Insurance will be the only way. That too will be sold by US firms.

The GoI then, whoever it is running the govt, can't do anything as they will be held hostage by these medical, hospital and pharma unions.

The day is not far when India's healthcare industry will be run by the US. They can develop, test, and sell drugs in India with their monetarily influenced and incentivized Indian medical community and capitalists at any price as they wish.

Why is the GoI allowing a free run for American private equity in buying up India's hospitals and healthcare industry? Every major hospital chain in India is now being bought up by foreign private equity in record investments.

Let India try just one thing. Setup a private fund like Temasek of Singapore with enough capitalization to go bid for one of Singapore's healthcare chain or US's hospital chain.

I can assure you that they will immediately block any investment, make it an investigation, and ban the private fund itself as being 'hostile.'

Now let's not talk about how other home grown chains and successful Indian brands like Havmor and Haldiram are being allowed to be sold off. It only makes me sad.

I wish our opposition raises such important issues that will affect all Indians in the future instead of targeting our own companies and private sector for politics. Sadly, they still try to derail Adani acquisition of a port in Sri Lanka or a Reliance acquisition of a project in Bangladesh!

There's a reason why many Hindu Liberals end up having strong disagreements with Elite Left-Liberal views.

Exhibit A: This editorial from Times of India Mumbai yesterday, on Hindu temples, that was just WhatsApped to me.

Indian "secular" laws state that the Govt has the right to take over and appropriate Hindu temples, but has no right to touch Muslim mosques or Christian churches. This bigoted law has been in place since British times, and has sadly been continued by Indian leaders. This editorial suggests that this open bias against Hindus is a good thing. Let's explore their 2 reasons.

1) "Private entities" should not control the Tirupati temple because it has assets of USD 36 billion. So the government has to take over. But the editorial has no problems with "private entities controlling worship places" if they happen to be Muslim or Christian. Implicit in this editorial is the opinion that only Hindus should not be trusted to run their own worship places.

Elite left-liberals freely discuss corruption by some bureaucrats and politicians. But this editorial also holds that the same bureaucrats and politicians should be trusted with running temple funds. If the size of the corpus determines whether the government should take over, then the Christian church and Muslim Waqf board are the 2nd and 3rd largest land owners in India (after the government, including railways). Using this editorial logic, should the government take over the running of all churches and waqf properties also, then?

2) The editorial makes a valid point on caste discrimination. No caste should face discrimination in entering temples, and if government control ensures that doesn't happen, it is good. Many private sadhus/gurus, such as Sadhguru and Sri Sri, are also working strongly against the caste system.
But discrimination against Dalit-convert Christians happens in Indian churches, too. Muslim women face discrimination in mosques; and also, Shias in Sunni-controlled mosques and vice-versa; and of course Ahmadis in most mosques. So, using the logic of the editorial in TOI, should the Indian Govt take over all Churches and Mosques to end internal discrimination there?

Net-net, using the very logic of the TOI Editorial, either the government should control the worship places of ALL religions or NONE. It can't be that the Elite Left-liberals use their logic only on Hindus and not on others. That is not secularism. And it is not equal and fair.

It is classic bigotry, and idol-worshippers have been facing this bigotry for many centuries.

Bhakti movement ran as a mainstream consciousness of this nation at one time, and now we have folks who think they understand the consciousness that it takes to be a true devotee or bhakt.

The objectification of a Guru, Masters words or their symbolism is for the common man to relate and bring a sense of devotion n surrender.

The whole attempt of the left ecosystem is to ridicule the pure movement and conscious acceptance of Bhakti.

It’s funny how people clamor for an autographed T-shirt from a celebrity with little more than fame to offer – that’s called fandom.

They’ll spend their hard-earned money on pendants, visuals, and merchandise, thinking it brings them closer to someone they idolize who end up being child abusers, druggists etc

Or they’ll pay thousands of dollars for event tickets just to laugh, to mock the absurdity of the human condition – and call it entertainment or stand up.

Yet when someone buys an image of a guru’s feet out of reverence, it’s labeled as andhbhakti – blind devotion.

Where does the line blur between admiration and hypocrisy?

Is it our selective perception of faith, fame, or just our own inner contradictions?

Bhakti is one of the margs in Bhagavad Gita, Bhakti is the marg in almost all religions who revere their believed enlightened beings in the same way.

When people revere the hairs of a prophet mohammad

Or the attires of a Jesus Christ, or the visuals of Saints and enlightened beings..

Does it means all people are nuts??

Its just a question of where is your devotion centered and whom.

Symbolic surrender to enlightened beings or beings who displayed a higher degree of perception and compassion always existed and shall exist till humanity longs for truth.

So this finally puts nail in the coffin of the Aryan Invasion Theory (AIT)propounded by an ecosystem of historians and scholars like Max Mueller, Romilla Thapar, RS Sharma and some others. The Harvard DNA expert in fact vindicates Veer Savarkar, Aurobindo.

So why did this cabal of Historians propogate this European theory?
1. To justify Islamic and British settler Colonisation. Basically AIT enabled some to assert that no one could claim they were indigenous to Bharat, especially Hindus. And so there is no Hindu civilizational continuity.
2. To suggest that Bharat owed any and every material advancement - evolution of Sanskrit, farming or the dawn of the great intellectual advancements of the Vedic era - to foreigners.
3. To perpetuate the mythical North-South Indian racial divide. A faultline that still runs deep. Now, this study proves we are all one. ONE.
4. To paint the Aryans as an oppressor "caste" of "Brahmins" that subjugated the rest.

In 2000, terrorists attacked the 7 Raj Rif unit stationed within the Red Fort premises, resulting in the deaths of three soldiers.

Mohd Arif, the main culprit, was arrested by the Delhi police four days later. Now see the beauty of Indian justice system :

The trial court took five years to sentence him to death (2005). The Delhi HC took another two years to confirm the trial court's order (2007). Thereafter, the SC took four more years to maintain the same order (2011) and another year to reject the review petition (2012), then two more years to reject the curative petition (2014).

In Sep 2014, a constitution bench of the SC ruled that in all cases in which the death sentence was awarded by the High Court, such matters should be listed before a bench of three judges. Thus, Arif once again became eligible for a rehearing of the review petition which he filed.

Another eight years later, the SC rejected his review petition (2022). Then Arif filed a mercy petition, which was rejected TODAY by the President.

Twenty-four years after killing three of our soldiers and waging war against India, Arif is still alive and living on taxpayers' money. Just wow!
