Let me get this straight. Your party leader calls an unnecessary election SPECIFICALLY to take advantage of your opponents lack of a leader and now the best you can do is criticize BCCP not having a leader?

Now that British Columbia’s Official Opposition does not have a leader, it is completely impermissible for Premier David Eby to ask the Lieutenant Governor to dissolve the Legislature and issue the writ for an election.
There is an iron clad constitutional convention in Canada’s Parliamentary system not to hold elections while one of the major parties is choosing a Leader.
Seeking an election to exploit the absence of an opposition leader would be unthinkably cynical and undemocratic. In my view, the Lieutenant Governor should resist advice to dissolve the Legislature under such exigant circumstances.
