Reception have had an exciting morning with the Wellington Red Watch Fire Service who came to our school to give a talk about their role in the fire service, what to do in an emergency and show off their fantastic fire engine.

Reception children had a very special Christmas surprise today with a performance from PJ the Funky DJ. All children were thrilled by the performance with huge amounts of laughter. We would like to give a big thanks to PJ the Funky DJ for his kindness and fantastic magic skills.
Year 4 have been learning about the achievements of the Ancient Greeks and how we still use these inventions and creations today. We acted out myths, took part in sporting activities, voted as part of a democracy, and deciphered the alphabet.
Overnight a snow storm had arrived in Year 4, a crown appeared on the classroom windows and a trail of snowflakes swept over the desks. We unpicked the clues to make deductions about our new book, 'Frindleswylde' and what central character could be like.

The children loved meeting Simon and Linsey today! They got to see a patrol car up close, and some children even had a sit inside! They joined Mrs Oakleyβs Key Stage 2 assembly and spoke to children about their important role in our community and how they help to keep us safe.
