@UCFDigitalLearn@UCF@UCFOnline Hey there, does each graduate student have its assigned student success coach or does each graduate program work with one success coach more closely?
UCF introduces a new mentorship and scholarship program in the AI field for low-income students with the support of UCF faculty and a US National Science Foundation grant. Empowering students in artificial intelligence for a brighter future. https://t.co/tn2syzrfn9
I highly recommend the https://t.co/7ZsDO019Gh training for educators. It's well-structured, engaging, and you learn a lot about prompting AI as you create your own custom bot for education. @shaanmasala has built something amazing. PlayLab is a nonprofit, the training is free, and it looks like they still have space for the September series of three Zoom sessions with some homework. You earn an "AI Tool Design and Prompt Engineering for Educators Micro-Credential."

Calling all UCF #Swifties, today may be time for #TSTTPD, but every day is a good day to talk #TaylorSwift in our Rhetoric in Popular Culture (Taylor's Version) class.
This course explores rhetorical theories and strategies of Taylor Swift and her music. https://t.co/H9Z6iOsd82
Full 4 minutes totality of the Solar #Eclipse2024 in 4K and realtime with original nature sound. 10 minutes of the partial phase before and after are also included. Recorded near Little Rock, Arkansas.
A sonic boom or similar sound can be heard 2 minutes after begin of totality with a 2nd quieter 8s later. Reduced volume during the boom sound to add more dynamic range. Here on X I'm limited to 1080p. Full 4K on https://t.co/RaOxipDbAK
Turnitin's AI detection flagged Grammarly, causing the student to receive a zero and a year of academic probation. Turnitin's AI detector, which does not provide any hard evidence, has yet to be tested in court.

LearnwithAI from the Univeristy of Maine is a great resource because there are just so many ideas, and @jonippolito's system of tagging allows for quick filtering. I was looking for ways people had assigned image generators (to show AI bias). A quick browse led me to an educator's recommendation of two image generation sites that don't require login. https://t.co/TXsEOLzPnE
@danmartin_7 I offer a mix of modalities for texts: print, LinkedIn Learning presentations, podcasts, etc. Seems that students are more engaged with non-print texts. However, many students do not take notes or work through their own ideas without being prompted.
Worried about AI? You're not alone.
AI researcher @GaryMarcus says we need a worldwide reevaluation to assess the potential risks of this new tech. Watch his full TED Talk here: https://t.co/TxHnxd0wfK
Tuscaloosa is lit crimson this evening. Crimson to honor Coach Saban & the Saban family for all they’ve done for our community and will continue to do.
Crimson for Coach DeBoer and the DeBoer family as we welcome them to their new home.
Coach Saban, Coach DeBoer, #RollTide.
This is why teachers need to learn about AI: the public trusts it too much! For all kinds of practical reasons, our students need to understand that it makes things up.
