How I actually find profitable faceless niches (bookmark this)
First, install these 3 extensions: VidIQ, NexLev, and ViewStats
Each one has its own benefits. VidIQ for example is great for quickly checking monthly views through the channel stats button (because NexLev takes too much time to load that, so VidIQ saves you time there)
ViewStats is great because if a channel uploads shorts, VidIQ counts those in the total views. And ViewStats actually separates short-form and long-form views so you're only looking at what matters (for us)
Now here's the thing about finding niches, which is pretty important..
It's NOT about finding channels that fit every single criteria perfectly. These are just guidelines to narrow your search and help you spot opportunities faster
It basically comes down to a combination of criteria plus gut feeling and experience
Generally I look for channels that started less than 3 months ago. But the shorter the better
And I want to see at least 1 million views per month with low subscriber counts. And if they're getting way more views than subs, that tells me there's huge demand and the niche isn't saturated yet
Another good sign is if new competitors are blowing up too
Yeah that can mean there's more competition, but it also means there's room for you. The demand is there and people want that content
But if you find a channel that's been around for a year and getting solid views, but the competition is weak and you KNOW you can make way better content with better quality and a unique personality for example, that might still be a great opportunity.
It doesn't always need to match all the 'criteria'. That's why gut feeling (and experience) matters
These guidelines are especially helpful for beginners who don't have that experience yet. But as you do this more, you start seeing patterns others miss
And once you find a good niche, here's what you do:
Don't just copy what's already working. But instead, find a unique angle
One way to do this is take a format from another niche and apply it to yours
But the most important thing is that you need to KNOW EVERYTHING in your niche
- Know all the competitors
- Know what's working (and what isn't)
- Know the outliers
Honestly, the difference between people who succeed and people who fail in a niche is usually this: the ones who win know all their competitors and what's actually working
If you don't know your niche inside and out, you're guessing. So spend time studying & then create your version with your unique angle.
And once you start, don't give up. Most people quit after a few videos because they don't see results
But you're planting seeds & they need time to grow
