As student athletes pursue degrees, we must address the challenges in career choices and post-college life. Resources are key for clarity and support, ensuring a level playing field for all. Especially with schools biases for specific races, class, etc.

@sabrina_se42494@KatryaLy Absolutely agree! Athletes contribute significantly to universities, and their compensation should reflect that… instead universities have found ways and loops to benefit themselves over their students!! #UCR50@KatryaLy
@zcta_ly@TA_ED50 My thoughts exactly. The imbalance in college athlete compensation, even though they’re a significant contribution to revenue, raises so many concerns. Restricting their ability for personal gains also adds to the inequity. #ucr50@KatryaLy
@_alexander222@KatryaLy Hey I totally agree. Athletes' hard commitment fuels teams success, yet the lack of fair compensation from the revenues they generate is truly disheartening… @KatryaLy#ucr50
Universities reaping profits from student-athletes while restricting their self-marketing poses a serious dilemma. Time to revisit the balance between institutional gains and athletes' rights. How can we ensure fair/ equitable playing fields for both ? #ucr50@KatryaLy
@Jacqueline64118@KatryaLy Yes! Achieving equity in women's sports requires a shift in advertising norms. By promoting both male & female athletes equally, we can create a level playing field and open doors for women's/ everyone’s success. Champion inclusivity and excellence in sports! #ucr50@KatryaLy
@emilyVM723@abhornUCRedu Title IX was crucial, yet lingering inequalities persist in women's and men's sports. What barriers do you think still hinder the full realization of equal opportunities in sports despite legislative efforts? #ucr50@KatryaLy
#ucr50 Why do you think there's still a gender gap in sports, despite the existence of Title IX ?? Title IX was meant to level the playing field, but it's clear that there's more work to be done. @KatryaLy
Promoting diversity and inclusion in college sports is essential. Coaches of all backgrounds matter, and athletes should have a say in who guides them. This not only creates a more positive athletic environment n also empowers students to advocate for themselves. #ucr50@KatryaLy
Athletes navigate a unique journey, often contending with performance pressures and the weight of stereotypes, all while striving for excellence. It's imperative that we recognize these challenges and work towards creating an inclusive athletic environment.

Student athletes work incredibly hard, both on and off the field. And they are demanded excellence. However, finding a balance between sports and academics is no easy feat. Should we consider providing some financial support to help them excel in both???#ucr50@KatryaLy
This week's readings got me thinking about the disparities in the world of college sports and education. Coaches' salaries vs. professors' compensation is
a puzzle. I find it bit strange that facilities + professors get paid less/ less than coaches!! #ucr50@KatryaLy
@gomezzkg@KatryaLy That is such a great question to think about. I personally think that schools tend to prioritize sports. And as much as sports can provide great qualities to schools, there should always be a balance!!! #ucr50@katryaly
There’s lots to student athletes & their respective teams and orgs. But, key things I’ve noticed is the difficult to find balance of athletic and academic success. Esp. with NACC restrictions, $, sexism, etc. How can we strike that balance effectively? #UCR50@KatryaLy
