@catturd2 The instructor made me take the 1 manual car they had because I already knew how to drive so I learned that too. By the time I took my test on my 16th birthday I failed because I was too cocky and they thought I was too aggressive with a yield.
Passed the next day.

@catturd2 GenX here. I guess it’s more complicated these days. I started learning to drive when I was 14 on some non-busy roads. Not rural but not city. Not long after I got my permit, I would go alone to buy groceries ~1 mile. I took drivers Ed just for the insurance discount.

@FreddyLA7 I was in the AU marching band 30 years ago and we got to campus weeks before classes started and practiced long hours every day learning the songs and routines. It is crazy hot and even though we had to stand still at times, #1 rule never lock your knees or you could pass out.

@AccountingAsArt Came here to say what @_rassis said. I have dense tissue and microcalcifications. My mom did have breast cancer so they were being thorough. 2 mammos, ultrasound, everything looked ok. Biopsy just in case and bam. Stage 1.
5 years in November since surgery.

@AccountingAsArt Happy birthday! I got through to IRS ID line. When I got an agent she told me that client had to go in person. I politely said that when I was told that on another client and client went to IRS - the in person agent said that it could’ve been resolved over phone. ID resolved.

@FreddyLA7 My 79 year old stepdad was born in Bavaria to an American father and a German mother.
He was held back when he came to the US because he couldn’t speak English well enough.
He has asked me often to tell him what you are up to because he uses an old flip phone

@doomcock @elonmusk 2008 had chat with friend, we have same position on most things. 2012 asked if she was voting Obama again. She said we can’t discuss politics anymore. Still friends but can’t talk about politics even just to ask her side.
Some people think the other side is evil. And we’re GenX.
