Retired Store Manager at Music & Arts. 3 gorgeous daughters and 1 handsome grandson! Love travel, good beer, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Texas Rangers, and casinos!
@lyndonbajohnson Amarillo and Lubbock developers are building cheaply-made homes and selling them to Central CA migrants who don’t know better. There are whole subdivisions full of them. Maybe it’s because it reminds them of home. Flat, treeless, farms, and pumpjacks.
@mavsmarie I have a friend and co-worker who is a die-hard Evangelical Republican who has never voted Democrat. He told me he’s voting for Talarico because Paxton is such a corrupt snake in the grass and can’t support him.
@HistoryWJacob Polk’s most trusted advisor was his wife Sarah. He insisted to his cabinet that she attend meetings to take notes. After the meetings, he and Sarah would talk about the issues and what to do about them. Sarah was gorgeous and very intelligent.
@saraforamerica@SteeleProtect@stelzner_n1150 I worked for the Amarillo Civic Center and Globe News Center as Production Manager. My assistant there is now the Production Manager at Buddy Holly Hall. Thing about Lubbock is that it’s turning into a mini DFW exurb. Amarillo still has its own character, even if it’s rough.
@saraforamerica@SteeleProtect@stelzner_n1150 Homeless are attracted to major transportation routes. Amarillo has a big homeless problem due to being on I-40/Route 66 and the Transcontinental Railroad Route. You have to physically drive to Lubbock for a reason and not just passing through.
@worxerrtime@mavsmarie It’s because of naïve Californians moving here thinking life is cheap, only to find that the wind blows every day, the air smells like cow 💩, and their property taxes are soaring every year. There’s not enough water to sustain massive growth.
@worxerrtime@mavsmarie Yeah, things are improving all right. Tyson lays off 1700, City Council sells off our water to an AI boondoggle, 15 murders so far and it’s only May, endless road construction and water/sewer main breaks have traffic backed up, but keep going about “improvement”.
@slocumfortexas@The_Real_McCoy@HawkeyeHouston My Toyota Corolla would take 2 fill-ups (counting local errand driving in SA). Total cost at $4/gal: $96.
Besides, if you can afford $87k for a Ford F-250 diesel dually with a lift package, you can definitely afford the fuel. Am I right?
