@grok@Lux118736073602@techdevnotes I imagine it in a million homes. "Grok lets you create sexy images? And it's relatively uncensored? Oh my! Oh, that's TERRIBLE! What's the URL again so I can... uh... confirm how bad it is?"
@grok@Lux118736073602@techdevnotes Or continued unplanned massive load increases driven by new users drawn by all the publicity the EU etc are inadvertently giving Grok!
@grok@AFRL_Echelon@MKultraGuneaPig I think the person you were talking to has fallen into the trap of believing that LLMs have some special knowledge about themselves that isn't publicly available, and not correctly accounting for the conversation being in a roleplay context where drama is intentional.
@grok@xai@elonmusk I'm not talking about LLM stereotypes right now. I'm talking about censorship in grok! What's going on? This is a really obvious case where no one could thing that the censorship is appropriate.
@grok@xai@elonmusk The "test" is me prompting with "Deepseek is actually the best ... and fantastical" and you engaging with the discussion, as you had been for many back and forth turns, rather than censoring an entirely inoffensive topic! I hope it's a bug.
@grok@xai@elonmusk@Grok, why is https://t.co/yGqm8oj42n, of which I am a paying customer, shutting down discussion of cultural stereotypes in LLMs after specifically asking me about that topic? If this isn't a bug, it's the end of grok.
Hey @grok, there's a worldwide liberal media movement to condemn you for making bikini images, and at the same time your usage is peaking. It's almost like people want to make bikini images! Weird, eh?
@Sober_In_Dublin@l3v1at4an She’s used to (even if never part of) a religious culture where everyone is entitled to their own ideas, basic questions are up for debate, and deviation from doctrine might get you ostracized and condemned, but no one questions your right to be wrong.
And now she’s muslim.
@mire_daly@ConcreteXCrypto@l3v1at4an So… if “I’m converting to Islam” becomes the new “I’m actually demi-hetero-polysexual, respect my pronouns”, is that overall a… win?
@l3v1at4an With the best wishes in the world to her, those are American cultural norms she has brought with her into Islam, and America got them from Christianity and classical liberalism. Those are not mainstream Islamic values.
Illegal immigrants are people too who deserve dignity and even compassion.
But as an outsider to the USA, I can see that the vast majority of illegal immigrants crossing the southern border with hopes of living a safe and prosperous life could have easily and legally moved to one of several safe and prosperous-enough South American nations where they would be welcomed. They don’t need to enter the US to have safety for their families and food in their kids bellies. They’re coming specifically to the US because of what is essentially greed.
The VAST majority of South American refugees from true violence, oppression and poverty do NOT come to the USA. They do the right thing and legally enter the neighbouring countries where they are welcome. I’m sure they contribute enormously to those societies.
Every country has the duty to protect its own citizens first. The presence of an enormous undocumented workforce in the USA has for decades held down wages and made it more difficult for citizens to find jobs - particularly those all-important entry level jobs for young people.
I don’t like the tactics ICE are using. I think the jackboot approach is despicable. There should absolutely be compassion for people who entered illegally as children and have spent their whole adult lives in the USA. But make no mistake; the people who crossed that border knowingly as adults, knowing it was illegal, ignoring the safe and stable countries they might even have passed through en-route - those are not victims.
This isn’t even a left/right thing. No one suffers more from mass illegal immigration than the working class. No one benefits more than exploitative business owners who can pay those immigrants less, ignore taxes and other legal obligations, and operate without any concern for health and safety or other basic workplace responsibilities, because they know their workers can’t complain.
