According to Kyiv, Belarus has once again activated signal boosters for Russian drones.

An attack on the railway line near the "Yahodyn" crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border was carried out using signal boosters located in Belarus, which Russia employs to control its drones. This was stated by Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, to the news agency Ukrinform.

"Belarus is actively supporting Russia in attacks on Ukrainian territory. This includes the use of signal boosters activated on Belarusian soil that amplify signals for Russian 'Shahed' and 'Gerbera' drones," Demchenko said, according to the agency.

According to Demchenko, upon entering Ukrainian airspace from Russia, the combat drones remain close to the Belarusian border to pick up the signal from these boosters. This enables them to penetrate deeper into Ukraine, particularly into the country's western regions.

The "Yahodyn" crossing on the Ukraine-Poland border was attacked on the night of September 13; the locomotive of a Ukrainian passenger train was struck by a Russian projectile. Belarus had previously deactivated its signal boosters in late June following an ultimatum from Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.
