So he's indirectly confirming he wrote the movie before he even got the IP license, just happened to work out because the Studio was desperate to keep the movie license
@RigbyGender This was tampered with by Constatine films the real villains of this whole movie debacle. They’re the reason we haven’t had a good faithful live action film.
All he has to do was just say “I think fans of the zombie genre and games are going to find something to love here.” From the beginning instead of saying a bunch of nonsense that got people irritated.
And let’s address that elephant in the room. For everyone trying to pin this on the fans of the franchise, why do we need to treat people being paid millions of dollars with kid gloves for fear of scaring them off? They’re doing a job many would bend over backwards for, so why should I just accept whatever it is that they slap down with no questions?
Are we gonna huddle around a plumber when we pay them just to change a pipe under the sink and they decide to rip out the whole system for no reason other than he just wanted to?
Are we going to protect the mechanic that replaces your car’s engine when you just wanted an oil change because “this is what I think you need”?
Even as a writer, why the hell are we just excusing away anything artists do as “their vision” and how we can’t “scare them away” when they’re being paid more money than any of us will earn in our lifetimes?
They’re not your friends, they’re not people who need to be protected. They’re adults who know what they’re doing, and thus should be treated that way.
If this was wholly Zach’s original IP, then I’d say there’s some justification in letting him do what he wants, but he was hired to do a Resident Evil movie, and believe it or not, working on adapting an IP that is not your own doesn’t mean you can just do whatever and slap the label of the franchise on it.
You can tell who’s a fucking dumb shit Creggar dick rider because they use this game as an excuse for the movie not following the game story line. This movie had a core character show up in the end and had a DLC expansion connecting the stories. But google didn’t tell them that
where’s leon? where are all the tyrants? why are we following some random guy? where are the zombies? what’s the point of calling this resident evil if it’s barely connected?
RE fans had their sandwich fucked up seven times and their response to someone making a new sandwich is “no we want you to fuck up the sandwich for the eighth time you fucking larper”
Zach Cregger says that he feels like he has been on an apology tour for ‘RESIDENT EVIL’ to get people to stop calling him a LARPer.
“Now, I’m just like, ‘You know what? See the movie.’ If you still feel the same way, then whatever you think is fair.”

Zach Cregger admitted that he was “naive” to think his less-direct approach to adapting Resident Evil would be universally well-received by fans after deliberately choosing to avoid retelling the story exactly as it unfolds in the games. https://t.co/Ig3COuIzgW
