@AWSXIX Does all queer media have to be representation? Why do you have a completely different standard for straight shows? Yes the homophobia would happen no matter what, but the whole ‘fandoms join together’ is enabling it. Queer shows should be allowed to be mediocre and imperfect.
@Allanwhtever@HexTheKittyMeow So the film is in fact made by queer people, and it’s a satirical film. It’s a comedy. You aren’t supposed to take it seriously. Are you incapable of understanding that? Or do you just think only straight people can make jokes about themselves and all gay media must be palatable
@AWSXIX@paperskunkproto But there are thousands of straight shows that come out and are cringy and have shit writing a stereotypical characters. They never get the same kind of hate campaign. People are being homophobic, and a lot of young gay people are playing into respectability politics with it.
What the hell must I do?
Artists just want a place online where platforms don't feed their work to AI. So I built Cara. But people just won't leave us alone.
The laws don't help us, the governments don't help us. What are artists supposed to do exactly? 1/
Dear Rivals!
We’ve seen the community’s feedback regarding today’s announcement of Storm’s most recent costume as well as the overall sentiment towards her cosmetic options. We hear your passion and want to share our plan going forward with the community:
1. We will be upgrading the Sacred Skies swimsuit costume to Legendary for free in the near future. This upgrade will include an all-new lobby animation and an updated MVP animation. The costume will still be sold at the current price of $16.
2. Players who purchase the costume will receive a free Ultimate effect upgrade.
3. We want to ensure the community that there will be more Storm Legendary tier Costumes coming, so please keep your eyes on the skies over the rest of the year.
While we deeply value the expressive nature of our players, our number one goal is to create a positive community for everyone who loves this game. And while we understand that tensions run high, harassment of our staff, including the development team and moderators, is not acceptable. As the upgrades will take some time, please be patient, as we are already hard at work on the above. Get ready for the Mistress of the Elements to reign over the battlefield soon. Ignite the battle!

@gpcooper5858@Jujubes02754126@Gvtyshifter11@superfatraccoon@mrdreamwanderer No but like if we use your example, a crime gives you a criminal record. People will easily be able to see what you did, and will view you differently because of it. You cannot reasonably expect people who were harmed by racism to forgive it.
@rivxlru@mrdreamwanderer Why do you believe the victims of racism are obligated to forgive it. I think people can change and absolutely should be given the space to, but the actions don’t just disappear, and it’s reasonable to expect that they will affect how people view you.
@Loveles78793170@RoachinYourBath@mrdreamwanderer I promise you ‘edgy jokes’ and racism are so incredibly hurtful, especially to young black kids who are made the butt of a joke for no reason other than the fact they were born. It’s not reasonable to expect people to just forget that, and a good person wouldn’t expect them to
@Loveles78793170@RoachinYourBath@mrdreamwanderer Why do you think changing should absolve you of what you did? Your actions affect the people around you, and racism especially leaves traumatic scars even if you think you were just making edgy jokes. People should change because it’s the right thing to do, not to erase the past
@Def_Not_Deuce@The_Calabo And that’s not even mentioning the fact that ALL mutants are hated, when there really are only a few omega level mutants that can cause disasters, and the vast majority actually have mutations that are weak, useless, or a hindrance to themselves
@Def_Not_Deuce@The_Calabo Clearly your mind is made on this and that’s ok, but imo the problem is that you’re applying it mutant to human instead of mutant to superhero. Cause there’s nothing that makes the mutants inherently more dangerous that any other superhero, but they are disproportionately hated.
@eb0ny_4nd_iv0ry @Def_Not_Deuce in a world where magic, superpowers, and sci-fi weapons are commonplace. Nothing inherently makes the x-men more dangerous than say captain america, thor, or iron man. But they are irrationally discriminated against. That’s the allegory.
@eb0ny_4nd_iv0ry@Def_Not_Deuce I agree generally, but the point is the average mutant really isn’t. Because it’s a superhero comic, of course we mostly follow the super strong ones, but most mutants really can’t do all that much. But even beyond that, the other bit is that mutants are disproportionately hated-
