@idyllicmusing I would say that this is a clear case where correlation≠causation. The link mostly comes down to race/stunted development/IQ. African Americans tend to be twice as likely to exhibit NPD. Lower IQ/stunted growth is associated with dark triad traits due to smaller frontal cortex
