the biggest downfall of lads as a fandom is not utilizing your ability to ignore things you dislike. dont like a character? ignore him in game. dont like an account/post? ignore and block. dont like the 10 million anon strawpage hate messages you got? ignore, dont respond.

That just turns a boycott into harassment. There’s a difference between encouraging people not to spend money and publicly shaming or attacking people who choose to spend. If the goal is to put pressure on the company, then the pressure should be directed at the company and its business decisions, not at individual players for making their own choices.

Only you can make your own choice.

Social pressure can discourage behavior, sure, but it can also create hostility within the community and push people away from the actual issue entirely. You can disagree with someone’s decision to pull without treating them like they deserve punishment for it. A boycott should be about collective consumer action, not policing every individual’s wallet.

If you are not actively trying to destroy Papergames (regardless of whether they bring Valko back), stop using the negative # that mention China.

If you're angry, fine. If you want them to EOS if they don't bring Valko back, fine. Keep your wallet closed, the finances will do that for you.

If you don't believe that the trending is being artifically botted, and it's just full of genuinely angry players, go look through the tag. (Report posts as spam while you're at it, because most of them ARE spam without content.)

The CN gaming tag didn't trend as high after Summer Surge as it did in this last push, and that was with a brand new tag that was being organically used by a huge portion of protesters who were angry and upset. The twitter algorithm rewards new tags and those are easier to get to trending, so WHY is a tag that's nearly 2 months old suddenly able to hit #1 in US while climbing up the rankings in artificial 15 minute bursts?

You are being manipulated to join the exact same smear campaign that got Valko cancelled, in the exact same way that CDG were manipulated to amplify identical points. They are pushing a dangerous political agenda and they are pushing that Papergames makes games that degrade and put women in danger. These are the exact same two points that were used in June. This is no longer a conspiracy theory, they just jumped platforms.

Alright y'all real talk:

Fighting against PPGRCNG is more than just "hashtag bad" because I think way too many people are fixated on that and not the bigger picture here.

1. Fighting against the tag shows we as global players are still in support of Papergames/Infold. Yes, we are angry and hurt by them, but we don't want them destroyed. We want them to be BETTER. We want our relationship as business and customer to be BETTER. Our criticism comes from being experienced gamers and our feedback is critical to improving the game.

2. It is not a coincidence that the United States, China's biggest geopolitical rival, was the target location for this smear campaign. Fighting against the tag shows that we Americans in particular do not view PPG's mistakes as any indication of a geopolitical scandal. WE actually are very interested and excited to learn more about China and hearing Chinese stories. That a smear campaign filled with bad actors pretending to speak for Americans is beyond insulting. HOWEVER, we also recognize those are the actions of individuals and do not represent China and its people.

I am not particularly worried that this smear campaign here is going to do as much damage as whoever started it hopes it does. Trust me, Americans are not worried about 3d virtual sexy space men right now, we're still trying to get universal healthcare established. BUT I don't think it can hurt fight back when our own space is being used for someone else's beef. Doesn't sit right with me, y'know?

I just think it can be seen as a nice sentiment.
