@super_ult it really does make it all the more beautiful though, that in both endings of the game, sonic pierces right through the end, preventing 'the end' of the world, preventing the 'the end' of the sonic series

He said to 4gamer that he wanted to make an open-world Sonic game for about 10 years but couldn't figure out a way to do it. "In the end, [Morio] Kishimoto agonized over it and came up with the open zone concept."
