It’s an overlooked fact that fall foliage is meant to be enjoyed from under the canopy
You’ll never convince me that the old world didn’t invent stained glass as a way to mimic what they saw in the trees, looking to heaven
Reading as a child also makes you good at understanding context. Give me a word I’ve never seen before and let me read the sentence around it. There’s a good chance I’ll figure out what it means without ever looking it up.
This is one of those things that I can’t tell if it’s actually happening more if I’ve just started to notice it more, but holy fuck so many people in public act as if they are the only person that exists or matters.
Like father, like sons, and daughter. In 1936 Harpo Marx married actress Susan Fleming and, by all accounts, they were very happy till the day he died in 1964.
Sadly, they were unable to have children of their own so they adopted four. Well into their adulthood all four children told of how happy they were in a household that Harpo created to spread happiness. He was once asked by George Burns how many children he wanted to adopt. His answer was priceless. "I’d like to adopt as many children as I have windows in my house. So when I leave for work, I want a kid in every window, waving goodbye."
It was said that Harpo didn’t have a cruel or selfish streak in his nature, and he was usually recalled with great fondness by everyone who knew him. Groucho wrote, Groucho and Me (1954), ’Harpo was the solid man in the family. He inherited all of my mother’s good qualities – kindness, understanding, and friendliness. I inherited what was left.’
A real gentleman
One of the more disturbing elements of the world of Fahrenheit 451 is that the classics still exist, they’ve just been wholly rewritten to remove anything that makes them interesting or challenging. Our addiction to a fully frictionless existence is going to kill us.

"I'm Eve Kendall, 26 and unmarried. Now you know everything." "Jack Phillips. Western sales manager for Kingby Electronics." "No you're not. You're Roger Thornhill of Madison Avenue, and you're wanted for murder on every front page in America, don't be so modest."
It's with immense sadness that I share the news that Eva Marie Saint has died at the age of 102. A life very well lived, but still extremely upsetting. RIP Eva 😭💔
"safe" isn't wonderful because it's a technical marvel. "safe" is wonderful because you can understand the intent behind it. this is why art is better than a prompt.
