@MattLakeTA@UnrealEngine Does default to it being left in at a project level. Also, at least in 5.7, it’s not able to change based on build type (development, test, shipping). It’s on or off all together. I expect that it’s expected to be disabled in a live branch and be left on for mainline.

It's VERY common for sync (blocking) loading BP nodes to slip into a project, making it hitch.
A project should have ZERO of those in their projects in my opinion.

To simulate a first-run experience for testing PSO compilation hitches, you need to run your game with the -ClearPSODriverCache parameter.

It is our great pleasure to welcome back our next #Konsoll2024 speaker, Hollie Newsham @HollieNewsh!
Hollie Newsham is a lead animator working in the games industry. Her journey began with studying computer animation at the University of South Wales, where she received a first-class honours degree, landing her first job at Lucid Games within six months of graduating.
She has managed to fit a lot in since 2017: she shipped her first PS5 exclusive title “Destruction AllStars”, got promoted to Senior and then most recently to Lead, has directed motion capture shoots, mentored new animators and has given presentations at multiple international games conferences including Game Developers Conference (GDC) and Konsoll.
