More than 500 people are feared to have been aboard two boats that reportedly capsized off the coast of Myanmar.

Most were Rohingya passengers risking dangerous sea journeys in search of safety. We and IOM are deeply concerned by these reports and call for stronger efforts to save lives.

In Akobo #SouthSudan I saw the devastation of a conflict displacing tens of thousands of people. Nyanhial fled to Ethiopia & returned to a home in ruins w/nothing left. She wants to rebuild, but like so many others, is in urgent need of support, services & most importantly peace.

The Lugbara Cultural Insitution has Sounded the Drum for Mourning! In Lugbara Culture, disappearance is attributed to either drowning, death by wild fire, venomous snake or murder.
The Lugbara Kari has demanded that the government tell them if Dr. Lina Zedriga is dead or alive, saying her disappearance deserves answers. @MODVA_UPDF where is our sister? Where are you keeping her? If she’s dead, where is her body? And if she’s alive, why is she not being arraigned in court?

UPDATE: The National Unity Platform (@NUP_Ug) Deputy President for Northern Uganda, Dr. @linazed2 , was violently abducted from her home by regime operatives on 15th January, Election Day.

Weeks have passed, yet the regime ignores court applications to produce her, dead or alive.

She has not been brought before any court, no charges presented, and her family remains in agonizing uncertainty.
