In North Philadelphia and certain parts of South Philadelphia, Latino/a immigrants have reshaped the city's commerce through "deliver[ing] vital goods, services, and cultural landmarks," thereby revitalizing the city writes @stefania101 https://t.co/YGyIRFaxo2
"We should lean into our differences...We have gold coming through our borders...We're too obsessed with how they come, but not what they do" @profzeke speaking @WhartonESG about his new book, The Truth About Immigration: Why Successful Societies Welcome Newcomers

🚨Come and work with me!
My research team is looking for a postdoc with background in qualitative and/or mixed methods. Our project. The position will involve working on research studies related to housing and school policy. The position can be remote or LA based. More info 👇🏾
It's been a productive day so far. I received solid feedback and recommendations about a deliverable, helped some QE peeps with a coding dilemma, met up with a friend who lives out of state, and was gifted a free lunch at Pret.
I should play the lottery before my luck runs out.
Join PICC and PICC members on the public release of “Immigrants Grow Our Communities”, a report that highlights the contributions immigrants have made to population growth, the economy and voting in the state.

The best place to relax is near water.
After just 2 minutes of viewing water outdoors, blood pressure and heart rate drop. It's more calming to look at a lake, pool, or stream than trees or grass.
Beaches are popular for a reason. Wider bodies of water bring more tranquility.
I had an amazing time at my first Migration and Organizations Conference hosted @WhartonESG. It was such an enriching experience connecting with people from across the globe and finally meeting some superstars in-person! Looking forward to next year's conference!
Here's your Monday reminder to go on a hike if you need to disconnect and feel inspired. It worked for me. Maybe it'll work for you!

In late December 2023, I was in Puebla on a doctoral research trip funded by @CSERI_UPenn and @CLALS_UPENN and captured some photos of places that make me ask myself, "Is this Puebla or is this Philly?" I can see why Poblanos migrate to Philly.

Did you know Puebla was originally known as the "City of Angels"? Images of angels can be found throughout the city like the ones painted on the building in the photo.
