@wltr3565 I remember playing this for like a second. My brain wanted to do this dodge so I could maximize dps... but your hitbox is gigantic... so you can't. That's as far as I made it....
Retro pixels and catchy chiptunes... that's all a lot of "retro" gamers care about.

What is a game even? Is it just the code that runs and the graphics on the screen?

A base 1cc is good, but depending on the game not necessarily the end.

From a pure software perspective, many arcade games do let you credit feed and reach the end and you have to be aware of the cultural meta around a 1cc.
@AstheniaCraft So much of getting 1ccs is psychology and that will vary from person to person. Like does going thru and seeing/feeling the whole game make it feel more daunting or more doable? Your emotional reaction and how you process this might have an impact on overall performance
@AstheniaCraft Starting from the start each credit would ensure that early game is optimized and my skill would build towards late game
ofc credit feeding towards a clear is a valid way to practice - but if real money was on the table - not sure it's optimal financially.

I do tend to lean towards the original post - but it's just my "feeling" - like if you are credit feeding thru the game - how meaningful is the "practice" late game?

This is a prime example if your primary player feedback is steam forums.
Interesting dynamics you can exploit. Not shooting increases your cap recharge rate. You can go from fresh spawn to enough for a full clear and get enough points for a wingmen spawn iframes event.
Cuts boss time down a lot but leaves you with no resources.
