if you think your opinion is more valid because you have more followers then you’re a special kind of stupid. Anyone playing follower snobbery will be blocked.
@Rambler2017 @tommyloc85@sharrond62 Food was (relatively) much more expensive in the sixties. We were what would be considered now as poor. There were no fat kids in my class at school. Kids today just eat too much.
@sharrond62@tommyloc85 @Rambler2017 It’s not more expensive to “eat healthy”. That’s just nonsense. We need to start teaching children to cook again. The trouble is we place more importance on teaching “diversity” than we do on home economics.
@IndieChris71@looseboots5678@theJeremyVine All forms of exercise are good obviously. However, diet is without doubt the biggest factor in obesity. You need to run around 5 miles to burn off the average Burger. It’s just plain physics and people don’t realise how much they need to exercise just to burn off a few calories.
@IndieChris71@looseboots5678@theJeremyVine As I said, it’s a contributing factor. I’ve just had three months of complete inactivity following surgery to my ankle. I adjusted my diet (still ate very well but just the right stuff) and I’ve actually lost a few pounds. I wasn’t overweight before.
@IndieChris71@looseboots5678@theJeremyVine Chris, it’s well known among Nutritionists that “you can’t exercise your way out of a bad diet”. Yes, exercise is important but diet is the main cause of obesity. You can’t suggest that the obesity problem is the result of not cycling to work. It will help though.
