Check out our new paper - cover story on @NatureNeuro - outlining a potential new target for pain treatment and which may explain the susceptibility of older adults to chronic pain
@jacasiegel Ah congrats! That's so sweet and memorable!! My partner & I did something similar, and it brought us so much joy. He's a huge Swiftie and her surprise song was Paper Rings, so we got paper rings for our wedding day. Glad you also found joy in your special moment
Love the complete streets! 🌳🚲👟 Reallocating space for active and public transport rather than cars is much better for our health and planet⚕️🌍 Hoping the Paris Olympics inspire other cities to do the same.
Another example of why it's important to continually and critically reflect on our communication, and to do so with humility and openness to change. Even the placement of a single word can subtly change the way we view the exact same idea.

@StephenBozier Keep singing & make fun playlists. Let your supports know you're on nights. Pack nutritious meals (your body craves junk food at night) & tons of snacks. I avoid coffee except the first 2-4 days I transition. Blackout curtains, eyemasks, melatonin. Radical self-kindness 💗
Death in ICU 🛑
🔹After death today, the Crit Care Fellow had our team take “The Pause” to show respect for his life👇
🔹She then took time from rounds to have us process our pain & talk it through
🔹Tears were shed
Valuable? Thoughts please.

@WesElyMD A resounding YES!!!!!
Grieving and crying when another human being dies is normal human empathy and always a strength. Normalizing this and taking time to process together is invaluable for everyone involved. Please thank your fellow from me for giving their team this gift 🩵
Great @acgme, but how are you supporting LGBTQ+ and other URIM trainees? What actions are you taking to ensure Equitable & Inclusive training? How can trainees like Rob trust that you will hold others accountable if they report discrimination?

The #ACGME is proud to support the #GME community developing physicians who focus on excellence in the delivery of safe, equitable, quality care for all. #PrideMonth
Every program director, chief resident, & URIM applicant needs to read this + all medical providers, admin, & HR
It’s easy to stand up when there’s nothing on the line, but true character & bravery (or lack thereof) come out when there is
We have so much urgent work to do today
Infinitely proud of my brother @alexjcord on the release of his team's projects, the R1 chip and @Apple's first spatial computer! #WWDC23
I'm not sure anything can beat Alex's calculator controlled 🎭💡 or binary 🧠🕰️ but it comes pretty close 😉

@NNkinsi Yes! And I'm such a fan of your hobbies. Mindful walks have been my hobby of choice in residency too. Maybe we can be walking friends someday?
My ever talented, wise, & inspiring future MIL @RozTsai shares advice for fellow leaders & AAPI women:
“I encourage our leaders to really invest in getting to know their AAPI team members and ...building team norms where everyone has a voice”

@Surgeon_General@choo_ek One of the greatest, unexpected privileges I have as a doctor is to be there for patients and their loved ones in their first moments and in their last. Recently, I was invited by a family to participate in a patient's Buddhist end-of-life ceremony; it was an unbelievable honor!
