bug nobody names because it looks like a taste problem: two colors with the same HSL "lightness" value can look completely different in brightness to your actual eyes

HSL was built as a math transform of RGB, not a model of human perception - every AI generated palette built on it inherits the same flaw

What the oklch skill actually changes under the hood:

Generates every scale in OKLCH instead of HSL - a color space where lightness is perceptually uniform, so step 500 to 600 feels like the same visual jump across every hue
Runs contrast checks in APCA alongside WCAG, with Display P3 gamut mapping so wide-gamut screens don't clip
Dark mode isn't inverted - lightness flips while hue and chroma get preserved, so your accent color stays recognizably itself instead of turning muddy gray purple

Every change ships as a before/after markdown table, so you can scan a full palette diff in seconds instead of eyeballing 20 hex codes

part that makes this different from a Figma plugin: it's a Claude Code skill, so the moment it's installed, color reasoning becomes the default - no separate tool switch, no manual conversion step between "pick a color" and "ship a token"

This isn't a prettier color picker

It's the difference between an AI guessing at colors and an AI that understands why two shades read as "off" before you do
