#HSBH2009 is such a practical unit, especially with the Job Application assignment! I've never come across such an assignment and will look forward to completing it!!
This week we learned about utilising virtual reality in health care! It was interesting to learn about its nuances and distinguish it from normal games that target health. #HSBH2009
It was really interesting this week to learn about the use of games in healthcare, as it is something I've never been exposed to. Perhaps with more research into engagement, games can be an effective tool for health education! #HSBH2009
It was very interesting to learn about the detrimental effects of social media on mental health in this week's lecture. I've attached a qualitative study on adolescent's views on social media.

I wonder whether these views vary between cultures? #HSBH2009
@SashaRoscher I focused more on developing patient rapport for the reflection task! I wonder whether an anonymous system would aid or hinder in developing rapport. What do you think?
This is such an innovative method of receiving quality health advice. I feel like this service could be improved by having an anonymous chat system where individuals are able to converse back and forth with the health professional for more directed care. #HSBH2009
Just wanted to share an alternative to going to the GP i find useful and trustworthy. @NSWHealth Instagram can be a great way of asking Dr Jan questions anonymously and getting reliable medical information from health professionals!
Has anyone else used this before?#HSBH2009
It was interesting to reflect on the different methods of electronic health data this week! I find My Health Record to be such a good method of accessing one's own health information, however, the low uptake from both the providers and patients limits its effectiveness! #HSBH2009
@SashaRoscher That would honestly be great, however there are certain barriers to overcome first! First of all, having a secure website where individuals can guarantee their information is confidential, and another is convincing health practitioners to join the platform!
@KrestinaAmon Personally, I felt as though my infographic wasn't as compelling as the ones shown in the tutorial in Week 4. A more novel layout with more images and statistics would be better at grabbing one's attention!
It was so interesting to learn how health information can be readily accessible through infographics in the Week 4 Tutorial! I am just sharing an infographic I had created for a previous unit about shift work in healthcare workers! #HSBH2009
It was really interesting to learn about the positive effects (i.e. disclosing STI/STD information on online dating) and the negative effects (i.e. flaming) of the online disinhibition effect this week! #HSBH2009
@SashaRoscher Definitely so! I feel as though an anonymous healthcare chat system may help those feeling stigmatised or embarrassed to reach out. I know we have anonymous hotlines for mental health but not for general health concerns. What logistics do you think could aid this in happening?
It is so important that we as consumers and future drivers of healthcare advocate for the importance of health literacy! There is so much information out there and it is crucial that we are using evidence based practice to inform our health decisions! #HSBH2009
After reflecting on Week 1's content of #HSBH2009, I realised I never consciously thought about the improvements and/or consequences technology can bring to our lives! Looking forward to learning more about the field of e-health!
