@ronrule@ookiee Exactly. There wasn't a grocery store 2 blocks away or even a stoplight onto the main road. When I bought my house there was 1 grocery store within 2 miles and the rest were at least 5+ miles. It was a pretty sad small store too.
@Mellecon@RobProvince@HollyCabot Or the things we paid for that they dont. Need to call someone in another state? We paid PER minute. We paid for stamps because there was no email. We paid $4 after we drove to the store to rent a tape we hoped they had and then had to drive it back.
@ahouse4all When you own your house (like your own landlord) the country raises you taxes by $1000 a year and your insurance goes up by $2000 a year and your hoa goes up $100 a mo. Then the cost of repairs and maintenance goes up. Your house costs more every month. That's life.
@Arrekisu@FrenlyOfficer Ok. Then do what i did. Buy a house outside the city in a mediocre neighborhood. Work 60+ hour weeks. Enjoy your life because there are people who dont even have what you have. I wish the best for you and your generation. Go get it.
@Arrekisu@FrenlyOfficer Yeah no drugs. Single mom with no child support at the time. Parents long dead. No inheritance. Worked two jobs for most of it (still work one FT & own a business too). Didnt even own a car for a few years. My interest rate wasn't 5%. No cable or internet until kids were teens.
@RobProvince Yes. I long ago noticed that children leaving their parents house had started assuming it should be a lateral move. No milk crate or curb rescued furniture for that lot!
@Arrekisu@FrenlyOfficer Well im not a boomer so not sure what you are talking about. You can check my history and see im pro-legal immigration and always have been. I cant afford health insurance either. I think all politicians suck and that they are all out for personal gain. Simmer down.
@alexthechick Your understanding is incorrect. It also helps trigger insulin release which lowers glucose levels which allows your body to convert food and fat into energy and they reduce inflammation encouraging greater levels of activity.
@Arrekisu@FrenlyOfficer But a lot of people you know did and they are blaming current companies, parties, employers and voters who had nothing to do with it for the problem. Something to consider when you hear stories about "those people" on social media (this applies across the board)
@Arrekisu@FrenlyOfficer It's almost like people saw that coming and when they said so they were called idiots and haters and racists who only didn't like the ACA because of Obama
@RobProvince IF the gas station had gas & the red flag wasn't out. You had to plan your trips. If you were going somewhere unfamiliar you had to PAY for a map to figure out how to get where you are going. and for gas to go to the post office to pay for postage to mail something you now email.
