I’m told that, despite there being an element of flexibility/fluidity built into the club’s summer plans, Spurs have earmarked around £225 million for new signings this window and are prepared to reinvest any incoming transfer fees on top of that figure to further strengthen the squad.

There is a real determination behind the scenes to deliver a statement summer. The Lewis family are understood to be keenly aware of supporter sentiment and are eager to change perceptions, with a strong belief internally that the club will emerge from the window in a significantly stronger position, not only as a playing squad but also in terms of their reputation.

The expectation, as things stand, is for a very aggressive and ambitious summer of recruitment.

I’m told Spurs expect significant progress to be made next week in their pursuit of a preferred ‘world-class transfer specialist’, with the club fully aware of the implications of allowing the process to drag on.

As previously shared, Campos remains the leading candidate, although no agreement has been reached at this stage. Active discussions are also understood to be taking place with Kehl, Winstanley, Freedman and Pinto.

I’m also told the club’s objective is to have five new signings agreed by 1 July, with Senesi and Robertson being two of the five.

Our list includes some very very exciting and attractive names.
