"This is not an issue of productivity – these are demand pressures and the NHS is working incredibly hard to keep things safe and functioning."
Our chair, Lord Victor Adebowale (@Voa1234) shares reflections from his visit to Preston Royal Hospital @LancsHospitals yesterday.
@LTHTR_DS automated, daily, incremental rebuild of @OHDSI#OMOP database has been successfully completing in about 2 hours in the morning for a while now.
Our OMOP data will lag real-world by no more than 12 hours making it valuable for much more than observational research.
There was some big news this week which should have been top of the news agenda - the fact that it wasn’t and the story that dominated the public space instead tells a worrying story about the priorities of many in this country 🧵
We were delighted to win the @HDR_UK Team of the Year award🏆at last week's #HDRUKConference. Really proud moment for the team
@stephend123 and Jo sadly aren't in the picture📸
Huge congratulations to all the winners, but especially team @LancsHospitals for their collaborative work bringing data together to power our future. Thank you @vvcb@stephend123 , Dale, Quin , Tim and Jo.
keep up the great work.

"Policing by consent" was devised in 1829!
The values it espouses are as relevant today as ever and could be applied as readily to work and aspirations related to the mobilisaiton of health data for public benefit.

OHDSI studyathons have been great experiences and produced important findings. Leaders from a recent UK event shared findings related to use of fluoroquinolones & the epidemiology and characterization of rectal prolapse and rectopexy. @prieto_alhambra

This was the first Study-a-thon for @LancsHospitals@LTHTR_DS & we learned more than about Fluroquinolones & rectopexies & made many new friends.
We battle-tested and refined our CDM that week vindicating our OMOP ETL approach.

Cold start in Oxford today for day 4 of the @OHDSI MHRA Studyathon
Working on bringing our results together to form the paper and adjusting the analysis code to better answer the questions
Just finished Day 4. Tim discovered where 'device' data is stored in our EPR warehouse and Quin is building the @getdbt DAG for populating the OMOP DEVICE table.
Agile data engineering doesn't get more agile than this.
