Rene is running for mayor after less than 2 years on Council. During his short tenure, he was caught lying to the public, used taxpayer dollars to polish his image & has been incredibly divisive & ineffective in his role.
Don't Rank Rene.

@amazon do you train your drivers to block crosswalks while parked on the wrong side of the road backwards? @PBOTinfo maybe you should require Amazon to train their drivers how to legally park in Portland.
When @CommissionerRG inherited Portland Street Response, it had a budget of over $11 million so that it could expand to 24/7 coverage w/ 60+ employees.
He failed to expand PSR and instead ordered a devastating hiring freeze and rerouted their budget to other initiatives.
ACTION ALERT!
These next few months will decide if there is a Portland Street Response. That’s because PSR is facing an 80% budget cut.
We need you to testify at upcoming virtual budget listening sessions in support of full funding & 24/7 expansion: https://t.co/AA79DeIFQE
“Aaron Schmautz, president of the PPA, said that the ACLU’s challenge is an example of ‘ideological opposition from those who don’t trust democracy.’”
ACLUOR trusts democracy & the Constitution. We don’t trust police unions - i.e., PPA. https://t.co/QbsOUIwbWA
That’s what this City Council is all about - appeasing the wealthy downtown donor class over regular Portlanders.
That’s why we are fighting for a #PortlandForAll

Tell City Hall - we want more PSR, not less!
They need to reject the gutting of Portland Street Response proposed by @CommissionerRG and keep their promise to expand PSR. The 24/7 expansion of PSR was funded unanimously in 2022!
@tedwheeler@CommRubio @CommMapps @DanRyanPDX
Do you believe mental and behavioral health crises occur after 10pm?
@CommissionerRG and @PortlandGov have recently said there is no need for PSR to operate 24/7 because they don’t think so, despite that expansion being funded and promised by unanimous Council vote last year.
You know what’s better than a push poll financed by the Portland Police Association?
A little poll we call “voting.”
82% of voters approved a new system of truly independent police oversight.
Transparency & accountability are a threat to PPA, so they propose killing it.
@BrimJulia@multco@montavillapdx@MontavillaNews@BrimJulia this will slow-walk and kill this needed shelter via unneeded process. We know there are anti-homeless on the MNA board. There are no ideal locations for shelters. Our community screams about homelessness but NIMBYs reject solutions.
Context: @CommissionerRG told @KOINNews in July he was 100% committed to 24/7 expansion & tweeted “24/7/365 has always had my support.” A few weeks later he waffled on that promise to @axios saying expansion doesn’t look necessary…
Thank you KOIN6 News for highlighting the lack of response from Comm Gonzalez's office on the demands of thousands who want an expansion of our city's biggest chance to meet the needs of our community on the streets in Portland Street Response 👇🏾
