"Equating Jews with Israel is antisemitism." When people post this, they are either ignorant or being obtuse in bad faith.

Antisemitism is holding Jews collectively responsible for the alleged ACTIONS of Israel. It plays into centuries of dual loyalty tropes that assume Jews are perfidious actors with outsized secret political control trying to undermine and destroy the places they live. It is eliminationist rhetoric, used to justify expelling, oppressing, or murdering Jews, which is key to how antisemitism is different from mere stereotyping.

Antisemitism is not recognizing the fact that Israel is the world's only Jewish state and that most diaspora Jews strongly root their personal identity in a connection to Israel as a PLACE, not a government. We invoke Israel in common prayers and our major holidays. That is all fact.

This is a very simple concept, and it is intuitive if you talk about Chinese Americans, Norwegian Americans, Irish Americans, etc. Telling an Irish American that there is something wrong with feeling a personal connection to Ireland, that doing so means they are excusing and responsible for every action Ireland's politicians take, would be bigotry. This, somehow, becomes less easy to understand when people talk about American Jews.

Telling American Jews that they cannot feel any connection to Israel as a place is antisemitism.

It is not just mere stereotyping, it is inherently eliminationist rhetoric that seeks to erase and deny the cultural and ethnic heritage of Jews, pretending that they cannot feel any connection to Israel without answering for every action Israel has done (or more often, has not, but is alleged to have done in bad faith by liars). It holds American Jews to a standard that no other diaspora population in America is held to, which is incredibly absurd when you think about how we Americans (with the exception of Natives) are all diaspora.

"Equating Jews with Israel is antisemitism" is an antisemitic statement aimed at denying and eliminating Jewish identity.

Here is an introduction to Adam Hamawy, The new Congressional Candidate endorsed by Bernie, AOC and Hasan Piker who is flying out to campaign for him for New Jersey next week.

Dr Adam Hamawy is a Plastic Surgeon in Princeton New Jersey and the current front runner in the crowded Democratic Primary in one of the bluest districts in America, NJ-12 filling the vacant seat of Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman.

Hamawy, is funded by the same SuperPAC (American Priorities) who were the largest donor for the successful Chris Rabb Congressional Campaign in PA this week. This PAC led by former Bernie Sanders staffer, @hannahafertig plans to spend over $10,000,000 in this election cycle.

As a man in his 20's, Hamawy was a very close friend and travel companion to a literal Jihadist Cleric known as "The Blind Sheik" Omar Abdel Rahman, who was sentenced to life in prison for being a part of the 1993 Wold Trade Center bombing done by members of his mosque in Jersey City that followed his radical calls to Jihad and directly inspired his followers to execute the plot, linking him ideologically to the tragedy.

Hamaway took a trip with The Blind Sheik to a Conference in Detroit in 1991 titled "Towards a Global Islamic Economy". During this trip they had one other person with them, Emad Salem, an Egyptian special forces veteran who was secretly working as an FBI undercover informant. The informant said they discussed assassinating Hosni Mubarak the leader of Egypt at the time as well as making bombs, and "conquering the land of the infidels".

The Blind Sheik would ultimately go on to orchestrate the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing, wounding 100's and killing 6 innocent people, although they did not achieve their goal of greater destruction and having the buildings collapse during this attack. Osama Bin Laden who considered the Blind Sheik one of his closest allies in the 80's and 90's would later be successful in this endeavor in 2001, by collapsing the towers and killing thousands of innocent people.

After the deadly 1993 bombing of The World Trade Centers, that killed 6, Hamawy showed up in court to testify for defense of the Blind Sheik and said to him "you have my number you can call me anytime".

We can not possibly let someone like this go to Congress.

• Vandals smashed a kosher restaurant in London.
• A synagogue was desecrated in Porto.
• Hundreds outside the Sydney Opera House screaming, "Gas the Jews."
• Crowds in Geneva chanting "Khaybar, Khaybar, ya yahud!" — a reference to a 7th-century massacre of Jews in Saudi Arabia.
• A rabbi's home in British Columbia was covered with Nazi graffiti.
• A synagogue was set ablaze in Tunisia.
• The only mezuzah-marked door in a Paris apartment building was doused with gasoline and set on fire.
• Molotov cocktails were hurled at a synagogue in Berlin.

This is what happened before Israel launched a single airstrike in response.

The idea that anti-Jew hate is Israel's fault — that Jews would be safe if Israel just behaved differently — is not just wrong.

Blaming Jews for hate against us is the oldest lie in the book.
