On Monday 6th July we filled an e-consult form for our 11 year old daughter to see the GP. It was not an “urgent” medical matter, but a week on and we had not heard back from the surgery, so we called today to find out what is happening. After waiting nearly 15mins on the phone, the receptionist booked an appointment with a physician associate.

We were then told by the receptionist that we need to wait nearly 3 weeks to see the physician associate, but we already know that the physician associate is not going to be able to help re this matter 🤷‍♀️.

So we called a paediatrician in Germany today (where my husband is from) and he responded the same day within 4hrs. I know it’s an insurance based system in Germany, but the response time was very prompt.

Whilst we have the Germany option, many people have not got that option and the lack of response, the wait and the fact that in the end you don’t get to speak to a GP is very stressful.
