The Timberwolves put together an inspired run through the first round and the early part of the second. Then came an embarrassing set of wipeouts that showed how far behind they have fallen. A big summer looms.

What a terrible way to end the season for the Wolves. They had really earned a lot of plaudits for their toughness and togetherness in the first round and early in the second. Yes, they were shorthanded, but to lose like that was unbecoming of the team they proclaimed to be
Anthony Edwards reflecting back on the season: "You're supposed to build championship habits or playoff habits during the regular season."
When asked if the Wolves did that: "No, we didn't build the habits during the regular season."
Sometimes I wonder how is Ant not the NBA golden boy?
- Ethical hooper
- Physical freak
- Plays through injuries
- Electric personality
- American - won US Gold
- Came from nothing
- Making a small market team relevant
Am I missing something? He is everything you want in a star
Been asked a lot what I think going into tonight... No clue. Just when you think it's over w/ this team, it isn't. But they've also had some clunkers in elimination games the last 2 yrs.
Starting lineup may be the same, but let's see if the way the Wolves match up is different.
Game 6 = 100th game of the season (preseason, regular season, playoffs)
3rd year in a row with 100+ games.
Only other season in franchise history with 100+ was 03/04.
I don’t dislike Wemby! And if the Spurs get there, I’ll be rooting for him in the WCF.
But the way the media has framed what was objectively the worst moment of his brief & brilliant career & a stunning moment for any superstar (ejected from a playoff game!), has been galling.
No Donte and Ant operating at maybe 70 percent has just been killer. DiVincenzo's on-ball competitiveness and volume shooting would be so helpful right now.
Every similarity between the ‘21 Bucks and ‘26 Timberwolves:
— DiVincenzo suffers a major injury in R1
— Superstar hyperextends his knee
— Superstar comes back in record time
— Get blown out round 2 game 2
— Even series at 2-2
— Go down 3-2 in round 2
— Win championship?
"Victor Wembanyama should have been suspended for tonight's game. ... It's about protecting the brand, not the names on the back of the jersey."
—@KendrickPerkins on the NBA not suspending Wemby 😳
Pretty crazy how much one playoff series can shift perception and narratives of a single player. Wemby appeared to be liked by the majority of NBA fans (myself included) before this series, and he hasn't done himself many favors.
Between the blocks in Game 1, ejection, flopping and officiating in general, he has just been annoying to watch.
