14 months ago I had to evacuate from Oxford High Schol when a fifteen year old opened fire and killed four of my classmates and injured seven more.
Tonight, I am sitting under my desk at Michigan State Univeristy, once again texting everyone “I love you”
When will this end?
@oliviastowell I relied on outlets where I could (JCrew Factory, etc), secondhand, trading with friends, and a lot of H&M since we didn’t have a Target in town. Look for basic solids and dress them up with colorful accessories. Sale rack at White House Black Market was usually a win, too.
@kirk_rylee@oliviastowell When I grad school, this is basically exactly what my friends and I would do! We’d do a tour of each other’s apartments, and the owner had to sit back while others made outfits they wouldn’t have thought of. As the parade continues, you traded out pieces from others’ closets.
@katypearce None of the major pattern companies sold a pattern for them, which was surprising and super annoying—but we had an Isabella and Mirabel over in our house anyway! Saw at least 5 other Isabellas and one Mirabel at her school.
@AlainaMcCartney Oooh, never forget those camp songs! I am re-discovering their magic for road trips. We did “Boom chicka boom” for half an hour yesterday and it’s perfect.
So grateful for my years singing in Christmas caroling choir, for now I can mindlessly sing my kids to sleep while scrolling Twitter bc I have those words memorized (several verses each).
