Tonight’s CPS Science Crepuscular Creep raised $1,686 on $2 tickets, although many overpaid. Just as important, we loved watching people have fun! We all need more fun. The pumpkins will be back next year with even more ideas.
@aprilhenrybooks I am a middle school librarian. You are my go to author to get my students reading. They love your books. I love your books and my testing level lexile score is likely post high school (you never know…) I’d sneak your books to any student told to read something higher.
Talking to students about 9/11 is difficult as a young teacher, mostly because I really /don’t/ remember it. Thank you, @ColinJost, for gifting us your/your mom’s story of that day and the weeks that followed. Students absolutely loved it.

I am seeing this deadening effect on writing at 8th grade. Just read 85 personal essays. Only 6 enlightened me, surprised me, taught me something new, made me care, engaged me... I pointed out what was done well, asked questions, gave suggestions— no change.
