Sometimes the “principle” isn’t really the whole story.
People can have boundaries and still be emotionally checking out of a relationship.
When someone’s energy changes consistently less communication, less effort, more distance the real question isn’t just “What happened that day?” It’s “What has been changing for a while?”
I’ve been in a similar situation before. I even sent her back when she came around, because my boundary was my boundary.
