I am writing this post with extreme frustration right now!
For the last few days I have been getting an incessant stream of calls in between important meetings regarding the Delhi Medical Council elections. I have been wondering how little most of us actually engage with these elections even though every year few candidates spend lakhs (sometimes teams spend crores I have heard) to contest and win them. This tells you how much real influence sits in that council and how strange it is that resident doctors and young medical professionals in Delhi have largely kept themselves away from voting!
This year I want to ask you to change that, because my close friend Dr. Rohan Krishnan (@DrRohanKrishna3) is standing as one of the youngest candidates, and over many years he has represented the interests of our community through @FAIMA_INDIA_, showing up for some of the largest protests and movements this fraternity has seen rather than appearing only when an election is near.
Every one of us knows the pattern by now, where it is almost always the resident doctor who gets beaten up, almost always us who are left exposed, and when that happens our own people rarely stand up to protect us, so the real question on Sunday is simply who will be the person actually putting our concerns forward in that room when it matters.
Plenty of people will come to us promising they will do this and that for resident doctors, but at some point we have to stop believing promises and start backing the people who have already delivered and already fought for us, and Rohan is also someone who is in this for the long term, not because patient consultations no longer interests him and politics is a convenient second act, but because he genuinely wants to keep doing this for the fraternity for many years to come.
So if you are voting for the Delhi Medical Council on Sunday the 31st, I would urge you to vote for Dr. Rohan Krishnan, and to turn up in real numbers, because that is the only way young doctors actually get represented!
No retrospective rules!
Why is the NMC asking FMGs to waste extra years even after proving our competency though FMGE? Forcing graduates to waste years in foreign countries or here again would be a mockery of our system in the entire world @JPNadda@raghav_chadha
Not only FMGs, even IMGs had online classes during the pandemic. Why is NMC silent about them?
We proved our capability by clearing FMGE
If FMGs must compensate for online classes,IMGs should too.
Same situation, same rule.

Thousands of Foreign Medical Graduates are being affected by the new internship compensation rule issued by the National Medical Commission.
Today we will hold a peaceful protest at NMC (10:00 AM) demanding the rule be scrapped and justice for FMGs.

NMC’s 6 Mar 2026 notice unfairly targets FMGs.
After clearing FMGE, why more hurdles only for FMGs?
Same degree, same work, same rights.

woman doctor serving at a government hospital in Satara district has Allegedly died due to #suicide , leaving behind a suicide note written on her hand.
In that chilling note, she accused PSI Gopal Badane of raping her repeatedly over five months, and alleged that another officer, Prashant Bankar, mentally harassed and intimidated her throughout this period.
This is not just a crime - it’s a monstrous betrayal of power and trust.
When those sworn to protect become predators, the entire system stands guilty.
Justice must not just be demanded,it must be delivered immediately @Dev_Fadnavis@mieknathshinde
