@squirtw25@mario4thenorth Have you tried using AI to answer your questions? It basically googles things for you by properly writing your query.
I think you'd benefit from it.
Give it a try. Grok would be a good version for these specific questions.
@NeedlesOnNews@Corytrevor22 Yeah, Alberta doesn't dispense like with Safe Supply in Ontario. It is different, that's a given.
I guess it's interesting that the number of people taking agonist drugs, recovery drugs, went from 39 to 61 out of the 380 once the centre was closed. But that's about it.
@NeedlesOnNews@Corytrevor22 Fair point.
You may have to have an assessment over Zoom before you are prescribed the drugs that are then dispensed, to do whatever you wish with, at your leisure.
I don't want to exaggerate and make it seem like the prescription is just given out all willy-nilly!
@NeedlesOnNews@Corytrevor22 No. This study was conducted after they closed the consumption/supply site in Red Deer Alberta.
The hypothesis was that OD and associated negative outcomes would increase after the closure.
They compare 381 Red Deer clients to clients of a site in Lethbridge that stayed open.
@NeedlesOnNews@Corytrevor22 Double check those data points. More recent studies call the previous "consensus" from consumption site operators and partners into question.
We have to keep an open mind; perhaps handing out drugs doesn't result in better overall outcomes.

@stevenman47@grok@AdamZivo@preta_6 "9% of accidents on my street involve orange convertibles."
"Hey gork, how many accidents are in the city that involve orange convertibles?"
We gotta measure the same things to argue around the measurements.
@stevenman47@AdamZivo@preta_6@grok Hey @grok now tell us the number of mass shootings that have occurred at Canadian schools since 1970.
This is the original claim.
@HoCStaffer Isn't it curious how multiple identical businesses exist and even thrive right next to each other to serve such a small population of eligible purchasers on reserves?
It's pretty much the only on-reserve industry in most places so the government just looks the other way.
@RealBudgetBoss@NeedlesOnNews@lawandchocolate I volunteer my back yard as the location of the bottomless pit for those not eligible for release.
Oh wait. We don't consider ANYONE ineligible because it would be mean.
@Julie_Politics@StevensonLDN I'd characterize my comments as occasionally agreeing that perhaps the job isn't being done perfectly; some room for criticism exists about very specific things.
However to say I agree she isn't doing her job properly is a mistaken assessment of my comments.
See you next time!
@Julie_Politics@StevensonLDN It's not something I reserve for women exclusively. I give what I get!
I find it helps to communicate with people on their level.
@Julie_Politics@StevensonLDN Oh! My mistake. I thought you were commenting about how you disliked someone and demanding they do something you require, to farm the hearts that make your day just a little bit less bleak.
I know that I like getting the little notifications!
@Julie_Politics@StevensonLDN You didn't just say, "I have no support for the others on council either. I would rather she" /they "be successful at her job instead of a waste of money that accomplishes nothing.."?
Sounds like you don't like the lot of em to me. Maybe I misunderstood who 'the others' are.
@Julie_Politics@StevensonLDN I'll give you the +1; valid comment.
I don't like how you've stuck me in some 'less than' group, but I'll be okay with it.
@Julie_Politics@StevensonLDN So you're upset at everything and everyone and blame them for not achieving your targets?
It must be lonely up there, at the top.
I think that engaging in conversations about these issues is better than silence. Even when I don't agree with the proffered solutions.
