The 50 photo radar cameras across city today start issuing tickets to drivers who speed in school zones. The owner of vehicle caught on camera receives ticket in mail. No demerit points-just $. Up until now the cameras have only been issuing warnings(25k in Jan/Feb alone)
@ms_fitz76 Two years running I’ve had my classes plan and build structures and learning environments in the nearby forest. It’s amazing to support kids working in and with nature.
.....I believe there isn’t anything that can’t be taught outside, embracing the concept of the ‘outdoor’ classroom may be what saves us in September ... @lizgregugo@CreativeSTAR
@mrslyonslibrary @JennMacBrown I feel very similarly. I feel like there are too many battles, too many possible worries or challenges. It becomes exhausting and overwhelming. I’m with @mrslyonslibrary ... text away if you just need to write it down.
Please #onted ... no good can come from this kind of “learning”. Nothing COVID-19 or Anti-Black Racism from TPT, no booklets, no worksheets... nothing even close. Please. Our kids deserve so much more. #authenticlearning#studentdriven

@mrslyonslibrary @callmemrmorris@MstrJayWill @nobleknits2 I’m hoping these words become our new curriculum moving forward. Care. Respond. Build safety.
@mrslyonslibrary @callmemrmorris@MstrJayWill @nobleknits2 At least I can read your notes... sounds like I missed a good one. I’ll follow the hashtag for some “gems”... what was your take away @mrslyonslibrary
@THOMLYNN101 And what if we just didn’t implement it? What if we just responded to the numeracy needs of the kids sitting in front of us? Their needs will be varied, some bigger than others, but will not necessarily align with the curriculum expectations.
Let’s be honest. Curriculum is the last thing on my mind for September. September is about “how are you?”, “do you feel safe here?”, “what do you need from me?”, “what can I do in this space to ensure that you feel safe?” #communityfirst#mentalhealth#onted#traumainformed
