All the diets out there including #lowcarb, #carnivore, #keto, #mediterranean, #DASH… I finally found out I’m on a Slow Carb diet and don’t know it. I mindfully eat complex carbohydrates in specific quantities with almost every meal. I aim to get the bulk of those from vegetables, legumes and whole grains. It’s been working for me. I’ve beaten high blood pressure, I’m beating diabetes and I’ve improved my kidney function. All on the Slow Carb diet… who knew

Pasta is a #healthy part of a #balanceddiet. I know, carbs have been vilified. And many of the significantly processed carbs bereft of nutrients should be vilified. But studies show that pasta in appropriate portion sizes combined with vegetables and lean proteins can be wonderfully healthy meals. In fact, the protein structure of pasta is digested more slowly lowering its glycemic index. So, an appropriate portion of pasta as part of a healthy and balanced meal is something you should look at adding to your regular diet.
I just published my 3rd article in my series on my #weightloss and #Healing journey. It focuses on how I use #ChatGPT to aid in tracking my nutrition. You can find this article here https://t.co/dOxCiXru6p. Hopefully it inspires or educates.
What if I told you that though 10,000 steps a day is perfectly fine, you could get basically the same #health benefits with just 7,500 steps. According to a study referenced in this article, https://t.co/kUcYA2t3cw, you gain #health benefits adding steps to your day up to 7,500 steps. After that the benefits level off. So, maybe the extra time, whatever it is that it takes you to get from 7,500 steps to 10,000 steps would be better spent on resistance training or stretching? Something to think about.
I am using Open AI's ChatGPT to overcome a weight loss plateau and track my nutrition improving my health. Here is my story: https://t.co/GzFP6hIE9u #Health, #AIinHealth, #WeightLoss, #PersonalGrowth
My use of ChatGPT to track and analyze my nutrition is teaching me what I don't know about nutrition. Like non-heme iron, plant based sources of iron, is more difficult for your body to absorb than heme iron, which typically comes from animal sources. However, you can stack non-heme sources of iron with the right other foods to improve absorption. First off Vitamin C improves iron absorption so when you eat that spinach salad make sure you pair it with good sources of vitamin C. Put some strawberries, tomatoes or citrus in that salad. But skip pairing it with anything that provides an abundance of calcium, like that feta cheese crumble or goat cheese that goes so well with it from a taste perspective. Those high calcium choices will inhibit the non-heme iron's absorption. Also, skip the whole grains and legumes when you're consuming non-heme iron sources as they contain phytates which also inhibit non-heme iron absorption. I never knew any of that until this morning when I told ChatGPT what I had for breakfast. So, when you do a salad with baby spinach, combine it with lean animal protein, nuts (not peanuts), and seeds to get your protein. Skip the cheeses, grains and beans and pick an acidic dressing which gathers it's acidity from citrus. Do that and your baby spinach based salad should provide plenty of usable iron. #good nutrition #foodscience #healthydiet
